Spot is Terrierrescue's Terrier of the month for October 18
Spot's Story: Found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a Welsh council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Spot is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Spot was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
PLEASE NOTE: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk; Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR WORK AND HELP OUR LONG STAY DOGS: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We will offer an alternative dog should our dog not settle in your home after adequate time and reassurance. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers.
Please click for Spot's thread to view regular updates, new pictures and videos. To apply to home a dog, you must be ready within seven days and complete an online homing questionnaire. We work fast to secure our dogs their loving homes, and may be talking with up to 10 families at any one time. Please remain open: We have the dogs we have. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes.
Spot's progress through our Rescue below:
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust. Original Referral information: 02.09.18: Thank you for helping these Welsh dogs out we are absolutely chocker: Lianne
Spot, 8y.o JRT, again typical JRT, bit set in his ways, will have a grumble if told off but if you're firm he backs down. Never bitten just gobby

Re: Spot JRT DofB 2010 Gatwick Kenns
Enjoyed a gentle walk with Spot yesterday. He needs a bit of reassurance that he's safe to wander wherever he fancies. We met a sprollie on the way back. Think Spot would enjoy a walk with other pups. We passed a group of RR pups on the way back to the kennels, he looked like he wanted to join in on the group walk.
Looking forward to seeing how he develops as he regains confidence.

Spot went to the park today travelling on my lap. OHe mixed well with Broc another terrier and was easy to manage and very treat focused
On the way home he chose to sit in the footwell...but then suddenly a lightbulb went off in his head and he jumped up and leaned over to try and smell Colin's treat pocket!

I met Spot for the first time this afternoon, what a lovely boy. He was very friendly when I entered his kennel and was excited to be going out for a walk. He was easy to take out and in the kennel block ignoring other dogs barking at him. He is very easy to walk and didn't seemed worried about where we went. When we got back to his kennel he enjoyed his sausage treats.

I met Spot for the first time today, what a wonderful little terrier, he ignored all dogs as he walked out of the kennels. We had a lovely calm walk, and stopped for treats. So easy on the lead no pulling, absolutely adorable, he would make a great addition to the right family

what more can you say about this very placid friendly good natured jrt that is spot - apart from it would be hard to find a more likeable impeccably behaved dog than him - we went on our walk puggling with rexx both respected each other and got on so well - spot walks as the crow flies while rex likes to move around alot - a great walk cuddles and treats at the park two better behaved dogs would be hard to find - hoping to to walk you again next time but also hoping you are homed v quickly
