Hughie and his litter brother journeyed to Gatwick Kennels yesterday and received a hugh welcome. They were given a large kennel, food, after they had both had a shower. Then after 2 hours they travelled to meet our vet. Hughie was examined fully and checked his eyes for any ulcers and concluded he didn't but put him on eye drops for his sore eyes. Hughie was vaccinated and returned back to kennels for another meal and downtime.

Today the brothers enjoyed 2 meals and a lovely walk in the sunshine. They then went into Frankie's car and went to Nikki and Adrian and family to begin to discover life and all the goodness it offers.

Hughie and his brother Alfie came to us on Saturday. They have both settled in brilliantly, slept through every night and are beginning to learn to go to the toilet outside. Today they went on their first proper walk but weren’t fazed by any of the new things, only curious. That included young kids, bikes, runners and other dogs. They are wonderfully affectionate and love cuddles and snuggling up on your lap. They both have lovely temperaments around everyone, including new people and other dogs. We’re loving having these boys with us and getting them ready for their forever home.

Another great day for Hughie and his brother Alfie. No accidents inside at all today, so doing brilliantly on the toilet training. Totally relaxed with all people, kids and different sized dogs. Understandably not so keen on the very busy road with noisy trucks but we'll work on that one. They really are an absolute pleasure to be with.

So pleased to read how this gorgeous twosome are doing. I got to meet them first thing on Saturday in their kennel. Such happy and affectionate souls despite not having a great start to life. Thank you Nikki for fostering them both. They really need to be shown love and how fun the world is and it sounds like are! :havefun.gif: love4.gif

Hughie has had a great few days, now that he is rested and eating well he is full of energy. He loves to play fetch, and literally bounds after the ball once it's been thrown. Most of the time he brings it back too. He will then sleep for a while and then start bounding around again. He continues to be inquisitive when we are out walking and is happy to be stroked by all that we meet. He is such an affectionate boy, he loves his cuddles and all the attention he can get. He enjoys a bit of rough and tumble with his brother Alfie but then is gentle with me. Very clever boy. Because he's always running about he's not easy to get a picture of, but hopefully there's one attached this time.

Another good day for Hughie yesterday, like his brother Alfie showing how good he is at getting into a crate in the car boot and then just lying down with his brother to rest until we got to the park. Then off for a walk, it takes a long time to get anywhere because he has to wait for his brother Alfie who is so determined to sniff at everything. Whereas I think Hughie would be happy to run around a bit more. Mind you they make up for that in the garden when they get home and off the lead - charging around at high speed. More fun will be had today I'm sure. 0028.gif
