Dionne's Story: Dionne was handed in , she has been introduced and living with 2 other dogs. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Dionne is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Dionne is in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and sadly due to unprecedented interest, we will only be able to contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £200. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Dion's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: Dionne came in need of Rescue and we were happy to take her in and prepare her for her new home.

Dionne came into our Rescue on the 9th April 2021

Dionne arrived today. She had been spayed on Tuesday and found to have pyometra which she had shown no signs of having. (Pyometra is an infection of the womb and often fatal when symptoms develop its often too late to save. This is why spaying bitches can save their lives.)

Dionne also had a few mammary tumours and a few little warts on her eyelids hence she has been shaved and looks a little bruised in her recent pictures compared with pre op. pictures on her title entry.

Great fun to be with; she soon brings a smile to your face.

Poor Dionne has had quite a week but she was in good spirits and keen to get out for a walk yesterday.
She walked with Jupiter and Tommy and happily settled in second place with a handsome dog both in front and behind her!
Beautiful girl love4.gif

I met this lovely girl today and got an affectionate welcome in her kennel. Dione was keen to get out and after some initial hesitancy on the woodland path, we changed track and had a nice walk together. Dione did the longest wee I have ever seen! Then a poo, so she had been holding on in her kennel, obviously trying to be clean, bless her. We sat on a bench in the sun, then Dionne was watching a dog running in the paddock and got a bit excited so we moved on. Dionne can be strong but did walk nicely. I don't think we can see her true character and spirit yet, as she is a bit bewildered but also interested in everything around her. Nice, friendly girl.

Dione helped me with a taster session today. We walked around the village and she was very well behaved. She is an older lady but has a brisk walking pace and seems to have plenty of energy. She is not phased by the traffic, other dog walkers or passing bicycles.
Dionne is fast becoming a favourite of mine and I can't wait to see her move in to her forever home love4.gif

We set off through the woods today and after a few minutes, Dionne decided she didn't want to go that way anymore and wanted to turn back. I can tell you that I had no choice, as Dionne can be strong 0002.gif] I managed to divert her up another path and we walked back along the main road, where she walked beautifully and wasn't bothered by traffic. Dionne looked much better today and I think she's a nice, friendly girl.
