Betty and I walked with a few other walkers and dogs today. Betty is good behind, or in front, and will ignore other dogs as long as they don't start on her. We all had a lovely walk together and the only hold ups we had was a couple of times when Betty decided they could all wait while she had a good roll 0002.gif]

I took Betty for a walk today. She was very keen to get out of her kennel but at the same time really patient while I put her harness and muzzle on. She made two half hearted attempts to take her muzzle off whilst walking but is easily distracted and walks really well. She didn’t crave attention from me but to be fair to her it is the first time we have met. On returning to her kennel she went back in with no problems and settled down to nibble a chew while I left. I’d love to see her snuggled up on a sofa some time soon, it’s what she deserves. Joe

I was sooo proud of Betty Boo's today wheyhey.gif We walked with the Terrier crowd and within minutes, Betty was bumping shoulders with Alfie, who she seems to have really taken a shine to. Then she was soon trotting nicely alongside Spencer and Teddie. We had a fairly long, very doggy sociable walk and Betty behaved impeccably. All four dogs were calm and polite and this suits Betty. She doesn't like off lead dogs that rush up to her and if a passing dog reacts badly, then she will have a pop back, but she has proved that in the right company, she actually likes walking with some dogs thumbs.gif
It was funny, because as I said, Betty seems to admire Alfie and on return to kennels, she watched him go into the toy box in the cattery and have a rummage around, picking a toy, so she wanted to as well, and after having a good rummage herself, chose a teddy and proudly carried it back to her kennel Heart fill with love.gif] lovely, lovely girl who deserves her home ASAP.

I met Betty today and now I have another favourite girl to add to my (growing) list!
Betty is such a calm girl and we had a really lovely relaxed walk with the lovely Patterdale, Trevor.
Betty is gentle and doesn't pull at all and she didn't react at all to Trevor. In fact she seemed quite impressed by him and just wanted to wee everywhere he did (which was pretty much every other tree) 😄😄 !!
On the way back Betty decided she fancied a little stop to roll in the grass... Trevor watched and thought it looked fun.. so then we had two grassy rollers! Lots of belly rubs and then back for dinner time (and a bowl of cheese for Trevor, lucky boy!) a great walk !

I had my first supported walk on Friday afternoon and got to meet the lovely Betty. She was very excited to go on her walk and met me with great joy and a waggy tail. She was very good about putting on her muzzle and harness. We headed up the rear of our walking group with Marie leading the way and Alfie in the middle. Betty was very good during the walk although at times she would try to take off the muzzle with her paws or by rolling in the grass, however she was quickly distracted by "ah ah" or by speeding up the walk to a trott. We came across a couple of other walkers and dogs, including Laila from kennels, but she didn't bark at all and merely seemed interested in who they were trying to stop and sit down to give herself a chance to look at them. It was easy to encourage her onwards when this happened sometimes with a treat and sometimes with a bit of a run. She really was a very happy girl and really enjoys her cuddles both before and after the walk.

We had a walk with the Terriers again today, and as usual, Betty didn't put a paw wrong. She bumped shoulders and bums with them, all in perfect harmony. I feel I must point out an incident that happened today, during which Betty was a shining star. There is a lady on the common, with four dogs, three of which she doesn't even carry leads for and has zero control over them. I have met her before and her three yappy, out of control dogs will rush the on lead dogs and swarm all around them. Despite asking this Lady to control her dogs, she obviously can't or won't, so we were all surrounded. One of our Terriers was a concern, but superbly handled by Nick and Betty just stood her ground and looked at the off lead dogs and never flinched or even growled even though they came right up to her. This is proof of how a muzzle is keeping Betty safe and controlled. As a handler, the muzzle gives you confidence, knowing Betty can't harm and this confidence goes down the lead to her, and I believe it's why she is so relaxed and wasn't reactive today. Please, Please don't be put off by Betty wearing a muzzle on walks, she is such a well behaved dog to walk and is very obedient and responsive to her handler. Back in the paddock, Betty had a good run around and games with a ball. Always attentive, always eager to please and so loving. BETTY Heart fill with love.gif]

Betty just gets better and better, I do love her so much. We now walk with the Terrier group on a Sunday and she just loves it. I can't fault her, she is so well behaved, but I know I'm just repeating myself. What else can I say about her, Betty would be such an easy dog for the right person, it breaks my heart to see her here still each week Heart fill with love.gif]

Commenting to bump Betty up again, as our walks are so perfect and relaxed every week, I'm running out of things to say about this lovely girl. She had a good dip in the stream today and loved it. Gorgeous Betty Boos Heart fill with love.gif]

We have been a bit rubbish at posting the past few weeks, but what more can you say about the wonderful Betty, that hasn't been said before. She is the first name on our list each week, and we are always grateful when we still get to walk her now we are taking on new walkers, as we know she can be used for induction walks, because she is just so good. She walks so nicely, sits and gives paw on command! She wears her muzzle nicely now, and throughly enjoys some paddock time so she can roll around in the grass and have some cuddles. Our other favourite activity is to take her to the bench in the grounds, so she can take her muzzle off, have a good sniff of the grass and get some proper cuddles. We love her, and if we didn't have 2 cats at home she would have come home with us a long long time ago. She's with me in my rescue remedies profile picture, thats how much we love Betty!! Please someone give this beautiful girl a chance. I will make a personal guarantee that you won't regret it.
