Grizzle (Percy)'s Story: Grizzle was found abandoned and unclaimed within a North London council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Grizzle is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Grizzle was in boarding kennels near Gatwick then fostered with young children as an only pet whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

If you want a friendly, people loving, full of character staffie boy by your side then Grizzle is the boy for you. In the short time I spent with Grizzle yesterday I discovered:
1. His biggest love is people, having attention, cuddles, tummy rubs and being included in what ever is going on
2. He takes no notice of lawn mowers. He was in the paddock while the grass was being cut and his focus was clearly on getting attention from anyone he could see or interact with. He totally ignored the mower.
3. He is scared of crossing bridges. I could not persuade him to go over any bridges at all. As he approached a bridge, I could see his anxiety and if I tried to encourage him across he would back up and try and get away. We will work on this but route planning for a walk without bridges might have to be employed.
Grizzle is a happy, cheerful, full of fun boy, who is a delight to spend time with.

Lovely, lovely walk with Grizzle today.
He greeted me like his very best friend, super friendly and keen to get going.
He is an absolute darling and enjoyed being out and about. I get the feeling that lots of things were new for him, that said he tried super hard to experience them with maximum enthusiasm!
Lovely, lovely boy is Grizzle with an awful lot of love to give Heart fill with love.gif]

Grizzle and I had a lovely relaxed walk this morning followed by some cuddle time in the paddock. Grizzle wasn't interested in playing with ball, he had a mooch and a sniff around, then when I sat on the grass all he wanted was cuddles (and treats!)

Grizzle is such a chilled out boy in the home, loves people and likes nothing better than to sit next to someone on the sofa and fall asleep.

He has been brilliant with the children, sits for treats and was left for an hour or so with no issues at all. He is house trained and there have been no accidents at all.

Grizzle walks well on the lead and doesn’t pull, but does go a bit mad when he sees another dog, jumping around and barking. Socialising with other dogs would probably help to get him used to them and he can be distracted with a treat and move on.

He came with us to Pooh Corner and as we walked through the forest he did cross some bridges and jump over some logs growing in confidence throughout.

Grizzle is such a lovely boy who would make a great companion and addition to a family.

Lovely walk with Grizzle this morning. A foster break has done him good and he has come back with much more confidence. He was happy to tackle all bridges this morning without hesitation and was up for a long walk. On the lead he gives lots of eye contact and communicates well letting me know if he was feeling a bit unsure of anything so I could reassure him.
Things to love about Grizzle:
His smile
His happiness
His flappy ears
His piggy/staffie grunty noises
His cuddles
His staffie wiggle as he walks
