Buds Staffie DofB 21.12.15 Croydon
Re: Buds Staffie DofB 21.12.15 Gatwick Kenns
Buds has been improving his social skills and is doing very well. He’s walked with two calm dogs - who he’s never met before - and after 5 minutes of silliness, barking, not wanting to walk, he’s absolutely fine - in fact he becomes totally indifferent to the other dog being there. A little reassurance, being calm with him and almost ignoring him works wonders. Buds is a very loving boy, he’s always got time to give you a cuddle and a face wash and he just loves it if you bend down and hold him, tell him what a good boy he is.....he positively beams. Xx.

Buds is such a character - 90% staffie, 10% bulldozer!! He will cuddle you, sit on your lap, clean your whole face with exuberance - you just need to make sure you’re ready for the love - when it comes you’ll know you’ve been buddied - you’ll enjoy every second of it. Xx.
Him and Tony have a great walking relationship - he definitely listens to Tony and after passing one dog with quite a bit of noise, buds passed several others with just a bark and broadened his shoulders - well he had to let them know the most handsome boy in Horley was about!Re: Buds Staffie DofB 21.12.15 Gatwick Kenns
Geoff and Buds had quite a vocal walk today passing several other dogs. Buds is a fabulous boy, and we’re all working in his dog socialisation skills, no problems with his human socialisation skills! He loves people xxxx

Buds had a social walk with Moss today, walked by Fiona. After Buds initial barking, he settled quite quickly - checking behind him to see where Moss was but with little reaction. Further along on our walk, Buds spotted another dog. He was about to give the dog a good barking at but stopped in his tracks, wagged his tail.....it was his good friend and kennel mate Nyla!! They gave each other a hello but were fine parting ways again. Buds always walks with brilliantly with Tony and today was no exception. Xx.

Bit late posting this so apologies, but I did want to sing Buds praises. Geoff walked Buds on Tuesday and Snowy and I walked with them. Buds gave Snowy a bit of a stare then decided she was alright and off we all set. After a little while Geoff and Buds allowed Snowy and I to take the lead because she was so keen to do so. After we had passed a property quite a sizeable dog rushed out and decided to bark at Buds who was just passing, and Buds did not respond, he looked up at Geoff for reassurance, and Geoff told the other dog to go back, and then the owners called it and on they walked. So proud of Buds. He did have a bark at another dog we passed on lead, but it is anxiety not aggression, and encouraging him to walk on, or if you are waiting distracting with a treat, is really helping. Good boy Buds xxxx

Buds walked with Maisie today - he was fine with her from the start, no reaction what so ever. He was happy to have her around, totally calm.....we thought he was rather smitten with her!! He did tell another dog off but Tony just asked him if he felt better now, told him to stop shouting and that was that - it was over in seconds. After his walk with Maisie, we took him to the paddock. Tony sat down, Buds jumped up on the table, gave Tony a thorough Buds clean......Tony’s ears, hair, neck and face were sparkling but not sure if Eau de Buds breath is going to be the number one selling aftershave this Xmas......

Geoff writes - “Buds gets excited/stressed preparing for his walk and leaving the kennels. He is then a happy teddy bear, although quite strong with a tendency to pull. He really enjoyed walking with Frankie, but wasn’t so sure of Monty.
He loves his treats, cuddles and petting - a proper dog!!! “(I have just got Geoff to write his own comment !).
Dear Buds has become quite anxious in the rescue kennel environment and it is so sad to see because he was such a laid back confident boy when he first came in. Buds loves to cuddle up to you, he loves to be told he’s a good boy. Like all Staffies he is very people orientated. We would so love to see this boy get the home he deserves where he is loved, understood and appreciated xxx

Re: Buds Staffie DofB 21.12.15 Gatwick Kenns
We had a wonderful walk with Buds today. Last week we walked him with Snowy ( from Snowy and Gilly) she is so laid back with other dogs, ignores them really, and we thought her presence might give Buds confidence. It was such a success we wanted to do it again this week. Buds really relaxed around Snowy, Geoff was walking him on a loose lead, we stopped for lots of sniffs and when we passed a couple of other dogs and Buds did bark, it was rather half hearted and he calmed down very quickly, Snowy just ignored his behaviour. We gave him lots of reassurance and you could see the laid back boy he had been beginning to emerge again. Buds needs someone who is confident with dogs and understands Staffies, he has so much love to give, he really enjoyed Snowy’s company today xxx

We followed your lead and took Buds out with Snowy yesterday
Buds was so good, no settling in required, happilly trotted along behind Snowy for the first half of the walk then Buds led the way back. A delight to walk and Buds was very connected, look at him here looking back at me when I called his name Lovely cuddles on return to his kennel
