Scoobie's Story: Scoobie and his ?brother Yogie were found abandoned and unclaimed within a London council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving their life. Scoobie is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Scoobie was in boarding kennels near Gatwick and was in Foster in London whilst awaiting their new family.

If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and we will only contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum Adoption Donation is £250 (£400 for pup under 1 yr old). This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers in particular. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Scoobie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal an evolving picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: 15th Oct 2021: This handsome chap is Scoobie found with Yogie
Scoobie is an entire male we can arrange free neutering this end and is approx 5-6 yrs old. He isn’t microchipped.
He has some scarring to face, which suggests rabbiting, so no cats/small furries. Scooby will need some input and training. Deserves a chance with a rescue who knows the breed. Fine with other dogs who are larger but wants to chase small dogs. A really lovely boy who deserves the chance to be loved. Can help with transport. Tarax

Scoobie has arrived. I collected him from the vets where he was neutered. The vet nurse bought him and his ?brother out on slip leads close together. They were easy to introduce the travel crates and I didn't hear a murmur at all 1 hours journey, even when a new passenger was introduced mid journey.

They both enjoyed the grass paddocks and Anna and Paige later walked them to introduce them to new surroundings.

Scoobie is the paler one and is taller, nearly at Greyhound size

Fed, walked and asleep. Not a lot of room on the sofa!

Almost a week with ‘the lads’ in foster. They are very good natured and affectionate. Surprisingly very easy to walk given their size. They sleep in the kitchen overnight and are clean. They eat a lot. The only thing that needs work is counter surfing - food can’t be left unsupervised but it is a work in progress and they are getting better each day. Happy boys 🐶😀

A good week with the boys. We had a dinner party for 15 which they took in their stride last night. The morning pastries were tempting but they took a no for an answer!

We have had the boys in foster for 3 weeks and they are in a routine. Up and boys breakfast and toilet about 6:45, back to bed for all with a coffee, morning walk, sleep, lunchtime snack, play and sleep on sofa, dinner, evening walk, sleep on sofa then bed in the kitchen. They sleep for over 8 hours. We have left them for a couple of hours at a time with no accidents. Food can’t be left out and they like to pick things up and take to their bed - such as an old frying pan we are throwing away - but they always give it back very willingly! They are kind and gentle with the odd zoomies albeit limited as our garden is small! They love a cuddle on the sofa - bigger than your average lap dogs!

Lovable lurchers Yogie and Scoobie have been in foster four weeks. They are really starting to show their personalities - and what personalities!!!

Firstly, they are REALLY loveable. They are experts at giving cuddles and seem to think they are lap dogs despite their size.

They are also lounging lurchers. There’s always a race to get a spot on the sofa (which Scoobie tends to win). But they are very good natured about making room.

They are complete kleptomaniacs! And very skilled ones. Things we have found in their beds so far include pans, slippers, trainers, hats - but again are always more than happy to surrender their prizes 😂

They are super easy to walk. Yogie doesn’t love other dogs coming up to him but is helped by the fact that Scooby likes to meet every dog! They don’t pull at all.

They are free and easy with their affection and meet new people with curiosity and calmness.

In short, they are a joyful, affectionate pair!
