Gaia's Story: Gaia was found abandoned and unclaimed within a council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Gaia is now neutered, chipped, and vaccinations are in progress. Gaia was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and sadly due to unprecedented interest, we will only be able to contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Gaia's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Re: Gaia Staffie x DofB 02.02.20 Gatwick Kenns
Gaia arrived today. She is adjusting to kennels very well and enjoyed an introductory walk with Ros and then later I took her out to familiarise her with her new surroundings. Easy girl who meets dogs well and ignores or steps back if a dog is grrurring at their kennel door. She loves to sniff and explore her walks but equally stop and take in her surroundings. Happy to walk over the 2nd and 3rd bridges. Treasure.

Yes, I enjoyed an introductory walk today with Gaia. She is absolutely delightful and will not be with us for long. She is stunningly beautiful and her personality matches her looks. An absolute diamond
In fact she was so wonderful to walk that after my walk she enjoyed another walk with Sally who was on her supported walks and walked her alongside me and Mandy. Mandy was in a shouty mood today and many a time told Gaia what she thought of her but Gaia took no notice whatsoever. She walks with no pulling and really seemed to enjoy stopping to sniff and take in the new sights and sound. She was a little jumpy when a car back fired in the distance when we were on the common but was easily reassured. We went over the stiles on the bridge - under the first one and leapt over the next. And she LOVES horse poo
Such a young girl with so much affection to give to her new family

Gaia shared her walk with Mocha yesterday and showed how dog friendly she is. She happily shared her space with Mocha, completely relaxed in her company.

I had a lovely walk with Gaia yesterday. We walked along the lane, grounds and spent time in the paddock. She loves people (also has a keen nose and try's to alleviate you of any treats you may have on you), shows very good vibes towards any dog and is quick on her paws in the paddock (likes to run towards you and dart round at the last minute playing ).
Beautiful colouring and expressive eyes.

We were lucky enough to spend a long weekend with Gaia and she really is a special girl. Full of puppy energy she is interested in everything.
Gaia is house trained and walks well on the lead and is ok meeting other dogs. She enjoys her walks and the opportunity to sniff everything new. Once back she will happily fall asleep for hours on your lap or next to you on the sofa.
She loves playing with balls and toys and when overexcited can be a bit mouthy so probably not for very young children but she is still a puppy so learning lots of new things. She will patiently wait for food and take it very gently from your hand.
Gaia just loves people, we didn’t leave her on her own but on the occasion one of us went out she did whimper a bit.
Gaia is a fabulous dog, ready to find a family to show her lots of love and take her on new adventures, in the meantime we look forward to spending more time with her

Gaia is adorable. Still very much a youngster, curious and interested in everything. She stopped frequently during our walk, just to stand quietly and observe. She loved the woods the best, choosing herself a path that lead into the woods.

It's really difficult to understand why such a dog is in a rescue centre. She's absolutely beautiful but most of all she seems to taking life on with all paws - how lovely
