BuskyBear has been with me in foster for nearly 8 weeks and he's been the perfect houseguest. Don't be fooled by his age, he's got the energy of a younger dog and a playful side too (playing catch/fetch with a tennis ball is his favourite). He loves his walks and is quick to get his nose to the ground. He can be reactive if startled or someone gets too close without a proper welcome but he's very easy to move along. As the weather has been warming up he's also enjoying patrolling the garden.
He would prefer to have someone to cuddle and play with all day but can be left alone with no messes/destruction to come home too. He's a quick learner and is eager to please.
He's also a big cuddler! He will lean up against you and let you know if he wants more pets.
He's not for small children or small furries and will do well with managed socialisation with people and other dogs.

Sadly, due to unexpected work circumstances, my time with BuskyBear is coming to a close. He is a fantastic, loving dog and will make someone very happy in their home.
As mentioned on previous posts, he absolutely loves his walks. He enjoys sniffing all the pee-mail and leaving replies. He has done some poo marking so be sure to have a supply of poo bags to hand just in case. He can pull when first getting going due to his excitement or when a he's caught an interesting smell he wants to investigate but it's definitely manageable and doesn't last long at all. When out on walks he responds well to "wait", "leave it" and "no" commands (these work in the house too but have rarely ever been needed). If his nerves trigger due to an unknown noise or person nearby, he's easy to move on by telling him "it's okay" and to "keep going".
He also enjoys spending time outside in general so will happily just hang out in the garden with his person/people. He's not a dog that just wants to sleep all day, he wants attention from his human with pets and cuddles or on occasion playing a short game of fetch with a tennis ball. His favourites are gentle head scratches and chest massages.
He's a very smart dog who already knows sit, paw (and "next" for the other paw) and is eager to learn in general. He's also done some "sit and stay". He's very gentle taking treats. He's completely housetrained and is very good at telling you when he needs to be let out.
He does still follow me whenever I make a move around the house. He has been leaving the room I'm in on his own more lately so it will just take some time. His nerves have also settled quite a bit during his time with me so patience is key to let him unpack and settle in.

I have enjoyed 3 lovely walks with BuskyBear this week. He welcomed me into his room with a waggy tail, wriggly body and big old smile. He really appreciates his time out and makes the most of it. Mostly he ambles, checking out smells and enjoying grazing on long, lush grass. So we had very amicable, calm walks. After his walk BuskyBear waits patiently for a treat. Lovely boy. x

My first time of walking this boy. He appeared to have a very placid nature. He managed to leave the comfort of his sofa to give me a lovely welcome but was keen to get out and about. No pulling and good listening. He certainly enjoys his walks, taking in all smells, noises and sights. We did come across some other dogs and although he appeared to be thinking about reacting he didn’t. He just sat and watched as they passed. So hope he finds somewhere to spend his final years soon. Whoever he ends up with will not be disappointed.

Am glad to hear he and his wiggly bum are enjoying walks and it sounds like his nerves are still doing well too. for his forever home to come along soon as he's an absolute treasure.
