Joey's Story: Joey was handed in with his 3 litter brothers and unclaimed within a Northern council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Joey is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Joey is in boarding kennels near Guildford whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Joey's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: 25.04.19: Thank you for your help with Benn the Rottie...Also have these 3 lurcher brothers. Aged 2 years. All vaccinated. All may be able to come with neutering voucher. Dog and people friendly. I've tried lurcher rescues, general rescues-no one seems to want lurchers. xClyn

Chris and I walked Joey and Flash yesterday
So easy on the lead they were wonderful to walk - still learning that they’ll be other dogs out and about and will have a quick chat (bark ) at them but it’s over quickly and they move on nicely taking confidence from each other, think it’s all curiosity and learning about the big wide world for them Joey did make us laugh, he didn’t like the puddles at all
At one point I had to stand to hold back the shrubs back with my legs so that he could find a way round the edge of the puddle without getting his feet wet !!!

Re: Joey Lurcher DofB 24.10.16 Gatwick Kenns
I met Joey and Flash for the first time yesterday afternoon when fellow walker Ann and I decided to take them out. When we entered their kennel they were at first very timid but with the persuasion of a few sausage treats they soon realised that all was going to be ok. As soon as we had clipped their leads on it was a different story, they were a lot more confident with us and eager to get going. They walked beautifully together remaining very close together all the time, stopping once in a while to sniff new smells. I do hope they do not remain in kennels for too long as their confidence and personalities would certainly grow within a home environment.

a lovely walk with the lurcher twosome of joey and flash on tuesday - joey is the slighly more laid back and v calm one of the two - v happy to take in the fresh air and smells as we went for a very relaxing walk around the fields and woods - first time we walked him he was a little jumpy pulling here and there - now we walk round and hes an absolute joy and has a very sweet character and nature

If they are anything like their brother Logan, you will not regret rehoming these two. He's gorgeous!
Re: Joey Lurcher DofB 24.10.16 Gatwick Kenns
we took joey out with flash yesterday - such v well behaved dogs who both walk v calmly and these are two very laid back lurchers - joey actively likes stokes and affection rubbing his nose on your hands for cuddles - hoping joeys new home is on the near horizon
