Fetch's Story: Fetch lost his home as owners were unable to provide for his needs and now deserves gentle introduction to life and socialisation with other dogs. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Fetch is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Fetch was in boarding kennels near Guildford whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Fetch's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:Hi Lynne, Hope you are well.

Just wondering if any chance you can help 5 yr old JRT x Collie Fetch ? Medium size, he is neutered. He has had a dreadful life. Our own experience of Fetch is he is good with people, he knows no commands. We have been walking Fetch on lead. He appears fearful of some dogs, anxious of cars passing by. We have walked with a neutered Ambull, appearing comfortable but twice when Ambull laid down relaxed. No reaction from Ambull each time. He has been in my friend's garden and likes to retrieve sticks and balls, gladly bringing them back and dropping them.
If you are able to help Fetch? Have attached a photo of this dear boy Clx

Fetch is a smashing little dog. He's a delight to walk despite not really understanding leads he just loves being out and about. He gets very excited by other dogs in a terrier way but is responsive to a "Fetchy" & treats. Fittingly Fetch's fetch is perfect, he'll play bally all day. If you sit on a chair he'll put the ball in your lap and then 'sit' or 'down' whilst you pick it up to throw it (very collie). He feels younger than he is, such a puppy. There's a few nerves there and he needs encouragement to say hello to new people but once he is reassured that everything is ok he is super friendly and an absolute sweetheart. Fetch will be an absolute dream dog with a kind and patient home, he would absolutely excel at dog sports once settled.
Oh and he's STUNNING!

So I met and walked Fetch for the first time today. He is a very striking looking dog. He has one blue and one hazel eye, the most amazing golden brindle coat with large white patches, he is very slender and really sweet. He didn’t want the treat I offered him so I took a chance, entered his kennel and suggested he might like a walk instead. Well that was it, we were best friends! This little boy is so sweet, very easy to walk because he is so slender. He doesn’t pull at all but is interested in everything and so is quite erratic going side to side on the lead. Squirrels and birds are enormously interesting. This little boy would be amazing at agility training or fly ball. He was quite interested in other dogs we passed because he wanted to play with them! When we got back he was happy to take a treat from me. I am surprised to see his date of birth, he seems much younger. Lovely little boy 0028.gif

Fetch is a smashing dog and both Louise and I were smitten by him this morning. He was friendly when I entered his kennel and sat of his own accord while I clipped on his leads. We set off around the woods. He actually walks nicely on the lead despite his obvious excitement to be out and his interest in everything around him. He lay down in the long grass to have a good old munch of nutritious greens. He stopped to watch Bullseye enjoying a run around in the paddock and he posed beautifully for his photos. He does not seem to know the word 'sit' if you ask him but he did sit politely again when I unclipped his leads back in his kennel. He was happy to take a treat for being such a good boy.

Fetch should have been called 'Shadow'. That's what he has been since I got him home, bless him. He seems to be settling well, he's currently asleep on my foot underneath my computer desk. He tried to get into Tom's bed with him and Tom 'had words' with him but he didn't react at all, he just tucked his head down into a submissive position and came away from him and to me for cuddles. Leylah was trying to play ball in the garden with him this afternoon but he's too quick for her, but he didn't mind her trying to gently take his ball out of his mouth.

We've been for a lovely woodland walk down by the Dunnings Mill, and he's already met two of the Chefs and four Waitresses and was a real Gent. He ended up sitting in Emma's lap when she sat down on the floor next to him. I've only managed to get a couple of decent photos so far - he doesn't sit still for long. He's managed to destroy a couple of the new toys Auntie Lynne gave him earlier but we have lots more here for him which he shouldn't be able to chew up and eat.

He thoroughly enjoyed his first raw meat tea and waited very politely while I put down Leylah and Toms food first.

I had to pop out to the shops for 15 mins or so and although he cried a little when I wouldn't let him come with me, he was quiet by the time I'd walked down the stairs to my front door. I thought at first he was crying when I got back, but it turned out that Leylah had managed to get herself shut in my bedroom. Had a bit of trouble letting her out again as she'd scraped the carpet back and the door wouldn't open at first but Fetch helped me sort it out and she was happy to see both of us!

This is one of his new toys which is now residing in the bin!

Well last night passed very peacefully, at one point I had all three dogs on the bed with me and when I woke up this morning Fetch was underneath the covers with me. Our early walk was a little challenging as he has sooo much energy and he wasn't keen on people passing us. He was also trying to chase cars but I have a few ideas to try to resolve this.

When I served his breakfast he immediately sat and waved his paw at me, without being asked, so he's obviously had some training. Being a Collie x Jack I guess he should be easy to train so long as he doesn't get bored. I've joined a 'brain training' Group on Facebook so hoping for some good ideas from there.

I had the pleasure of walking Fetch today. What a handsome chap he is and much smaller than I thought. He is a real pocket rocket when he is chasing balls and definitely lives up to his name. We played for ages and he just loves it! He is such a good boy as he runs back to you with his ball and a big smile and promptly drops it in your lap for another go.

He is a little superstar and such a great character. I really wish I had his energy 0002.gif]

All the best Fetch :goodluck.gif:
