If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Peter's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: We were asked to help Peter and are delighted to do so.
Peter came into our Rescue on the 25th March 2019
Sadly Pip's cancer caught up with him on the 16th. He had been enjoying himself up until his last week. His friends were with him at the end. Betty

Re: Peter JRTx DofB ?2010 Gatwick Kenns
I took this dear little dog out yesterday with Jan and his kennel mate Percy. How anyone can treat any sentient creature with such neglect beggars belief but we all feel like that so there is no point almost in saying it. I just so hope Percy finds love and comfort soon so he can start believing and trusting in humans. Bless him.

We walked lovely Peter today, and after being a bit timid and shy initially he started coming out of his shell after a bit and showed us his truly gentle character. He loved a head scratch and a walk at a slow casual pace!
We had our volunteer induction today and Peter got us off to a good start and made us feel very comfortable.

jan took out peter on sunday and he seemed a little bit lost without his kennelmate percy and he was soon well behind olive and i -he was v nervous and walked slowly down to the poets hut where he was more than happy to have lots of cuddles and a few treats in there - he is a v gentle soul whose confidence we are sure will grow especially in his new home which we hope will not be too far away

Peter helped me with a taster walk today
Safe to say he quickly had me and new volunteer Chris under his spell
We enjoyed a stroll to the poets hut ... And Peter was much more confident on his walk back, quite the little spring in his step
