Rexx Collie Dofb 08.2010 - November 23
Current Status: HOMED [ Rexx was found abandoned and unclaimed within a Norfolk council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Rexx is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Rexx was in boarding kennels near Gatwick then sharing with another Collie in Shamley Green whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Rexx's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: Hi Lynne, Don't suppose you have room for a dear collie that is desperate to go. Rexx Tash x
Rexx comes into our Rescue on the 24th March 2019
Re: Rexx Collie DofB 10.2010 Gatwick Kenns
Rexx is a fabulous boy. He was resting in his bed this morning so I entered his kennel, called him and he came straight over to me. Quick cuddle, then he helped me pop on his harness and off we went. We met Sue and he was lovely and friendly with her too, so first things first, a photos call. Rexx was brilliant having his photos taken but he did want to watch the birds flying around and kept looking skywards all the time. We were all mesmerized by a large bird of prey flying around. Rexx then happily went off for a walk with Sue. Walter and I met them a bit later and Rexx showed what a good boy he is around other dogs as well as walking so nicely on the lead for Sue. He is an all round steady boy.
Re: Rexx Collie Dofb 08.2010 Shamley Green Foster
Rex has come to stay for a while. Think he's missed his home comforts x
Re: Rexx Collie Dofb 08.2010 Shamley Green Foster
So Rex is a typical Collie boy... he loves other dogs, loves toys & especially balls!!!
Re: Rexx Collie Dofb 08.2010 Shamley Green Foster
Rex had a very good night sleep.
We made up a den (covered comfy crate) for him with its door open in our kitchen/diner. Said goodnight & closed the stair gate, he chose then to curl up in the crate & didn't make a sound all night.
All waggy tail this morning, straight in to the garden to do his business... distracted himself with a football, happily ate his breakfast & now snoozing again

He sounds like the perfect house guest
Re: Rexx Collie Dofb 08.2010 Shamley Green Foster
Rex needs time to readjust to home life.
He does go out in the garden to go to the toilet, then grabs a toy but then runs back in to the house, this is probably a comfort thing.
This will improve over time & with love & patience.

So today we have found out Rex is not for cats.
He's seen our cat today & has been pacing waiting for him to come back in. So definitely not for a cat.

Rexx had another very good night's sleep, no fuss after bedtime wee... and this morning straight out to do his business again & happier in the garden too!
If you're after a happy, trained & loving collie boy, then Rexx is for you!
You will be rewarded with cuddles & love.
Rexx enjoys a walk, as soon as hears keys or his lead he's sitting patiently by the door.
He met cyclists yesterday with waggy tail & meets other dogs well. (But is not for cats!)
Our dog is a too high energy (full working stock border collie) for Rexx so perhaps a lower energy or similar aged dog would be good or Rexx would sure to be happy as your only dog
