Henry's affection is subtle and priceless. Initially he seems reserved, almost aloof. He holds himself back as he has really known only kennel life. When he relaxes he begins to give more of himself and when he does it means so much. His communication is quite obvious now that I can see it. And so he has probably been waiting for me to catch up rather than me waiting for him!

He does have nerves around dogs and loud sudden noises, but is open to reassurance. He likes to play but must be managed, especially indoors. This is quite simple once he knows you.

Henry has taken to jumping on my bed at night rather than joining me in the morning. This is a new thing as he is usually quite content on the sofa. Perhaps he is starting to see my home as his home now?

When we arrived back at kennels he was, for the 1st time, reluctant to be put back in. He usually pulls me through the gate! So as far as I see it, he is ready to go home and stay home.
