Ah Spike is such an amazing boy, always a happy lad with a gorgeous character. He loves his humans and cuddles but really enjoys his adventures out.

He loves doing different things and would relish an active home. Spike loves to run with you, would love scent work and I’m sure would love agility he’s definitely an action doggie, but also knows how to relax in the home environment.

Spike has been on a short foster break and did not put a paw wrong. He walked so well with RR Dexter today they were very cute together and enjoyed each other’s company.

There is nothing negative I can say about this boy he takes treats well, travels in the car well, and is easy to walk and go in his kennel and harness. I have no clue why Spike is still in rescue as you couldn’t ask for a more gorgeous boy if you tried.

❤️❤️

After a couple of days when it was too hot to walk the dogs very far at all, it was nice to get the gorgeous Spike out for a proper walk.
We walked with RR Buzz and Spike was happy to either be on the lead or to follow.
Spike is so keen to please his humans, does a faultless sit and paw, especially if a treat is involved!!
He’s a dog that just makes you smile when you walk him 🥰

I enjoyed a walk and run with Spike yesterday. He loves ambling about the river and isn’t one that will just dive in unexpectedly so you can relax. He was very excited when we found the cows but was a good boy and easy to manage. We had a run across the park and he has a real turn of speed, he loves going flat out but luckily soon ran out of steam. Spike as such a sweetheart to walk and once he trusts you he is a total delight. love4.gif

Took Spike for a walk yesterday for the first time. He was happy to see me and gave me lots of kisses. Got him harnessed and put on the leads and off we went. He was a bit excited and pulled a bit, but settled quickly. He was good by the road, sniffing around. He was interested by rustling in the bushes, but quite easy to distract him with a sit, and treat.
As we got near to kennels he saw some of his mates and wanted to say hello, but I called his name and showed him a treat, which he sat for.
A lovely big bundle of fur. Hope you get you forever sofa soon Spike.
Photos to follow.

Two lovely walks with Spike over the last two days. He is such a pleasure to take out and loves to stop and sniff at everything. On the way out we saw two separate off lead spaniels playing by the river and he gave a little whine as if to say I wish I could play like that. We then passed some kennel mates with no problem as Spike was completely fixated on his treats. Spike enjoys a bit of an adventure so we climbed up to the top of a nice big steep sandy hill and he posed at the top for photos. He was a very good boy on the way home walking to heel on the narrow pavement.
The day before he was also good but showed some slight nerves when passing the workmen down the road, he didn’t do anything but had a worried look on his face and needed some reassurance to get him to walk past.

Luckily Spike is another dog that doesn’t mind the wet weather and was pleased to get out for a good sniff about. He does have an excellent coat to keep him warm as well. Spike passed a couple of kennel mates very nicely and we had a lovely walk despite the weather. He was on the look out for squirrels but went away disappointed. love4.gif

Nice walk with Spike along the river today. He was very interested in peering in the water, which is very low at the moment due to a broken lock. Spike is one of those very nosey dogs, he loves looking over fences and hedges, I guess this is because he is so bright. He had a bit of a mad moment when we got to the sandy bit and wanted to rush around in circles but he was easy to refocus and we climbed up the sandy bank to the top of the hill, which soon calmed him down. I don’t understand why Spike is still with us either, he would be great in an active home but he’s not one that needs hours and hours of exercise every day, he just needs to trust his people and be stimulated and interested love4.gif

It was a lovely frosty day today and Spike was so happy, he loves the cold weather. We had a lovely walk and he behaved very well with an off lead lively spaniel in front of him. We passed a second dog on the hill and he totally ignored it. You can see how happy Spike looks in his photos. He walked very calmly on the icy path and didn’t pull. What a good boy.
