Here's Spike the unique husky staffie shar pei mix the other day. It was my first time meeting him and he was very friendly from the start, full of life and fun. You can see him obediently give the paw for a treat on the second photo.

Took Spike out for the whole day today at Chobham common.

He was amazing,!! So lovely and gentle.

A dog came up off the lead though which Spike didn't like at all, requested the owner about 20 times to get her dog on a lead, Spike gave the other dog a few words.

A passer by had to grab hold of the other dog as the old lady with the un leaded dog didn't want to grab hold of her dog.
However after the incident it was back to normal and Spike was amazing!

He loves a good kiss and cuddle!

I had a lovely walk with Spike today, he is a total sweetheart. We ran a bit and walked a bit and finished up by the little stream near Shalford Park where I realised he is not a water baby. When we got to the big bridge we needed to cross to get home, he decided this was very scary and it took a combination of treats, gentle coaxing and even a little lift to persuade him it was safe to cross. Once over, he was absolutely fine. He was very good every time we met another dog and also really seems to like people.

I spent some time with Spike today, first in the paddock and then out for a little amble. He was his usual strong energetic self coming out of kennels and then was totally settled and well behaved after that. He’s a very inquisitive boy, reminds me a bit of Reggie, who always loved having a good look over peoples fences and being generally nosey. Spike enjoyed meeting a swan and was quite calm, he also had a good sniff around the edge of the water, which I think he finds a bit scary.

Another nice walk with Spike today. He was his usually bouncy self coming out although there are some signs that he is listening evening when he’s jumping about. Once we were out he was absolutely perfect. Spike loves sniffing and being nosey, he was peering over the fence at every opportunity. He posed nicely for some photos and had a good look at the lake, a water baby he is not. I love the way his intelligence shines out, he’s always listening and is very reaponsive. love4.gif

Here's Spike earlier today, a Staffie/Husky cross. His name doesn't get across how cuddley he is, he loves affection and pushes against you almost like a cat for cuddles and attention. Very friendly and happy.

Spike and I had a nice walk today and spent some time by the river. He was his usual bouncy self coming out and then was totally chilled for the rest of the walk. He still finds the water a bit scary at times but likes to gradually edge up to it in his own time. His confidence is definitely growing. On the way back we passed a car park and he was so funny, wanting to peer into the nearby cars. love4.gif

Spike was such a good boy today. Even his excitement leaving the kennels was much less noticeable and he was much calmer. He’s so bright and keen to please. We were quite lucky because we only had light rain, which was quite pleasant. We headed off down to the river where he showed his growing confidence and even had a dip in the water. We also had a lovely run around the park. I think Spike would be a great dog for someone who wants to do Canicross as he loves the opportunity to have a bit of a run followed by a nice roll in the grass. On the way home, we came across a tiny duckling, Spike was mesmerised by it and very gentle, he just put his head on one side and had a good look at it before walking past.

Spike and I did some canicross today and went along the river where we met other people and other dogs and he passed them all very well, he’s easy to handle when running as it focuses his mind and he doesn’t want to be left behind. All I had to do was to put my hand on his collar and he ignored the other dogs. We then had a nice walk through the fields and checked out the river for more ducklings.
