After a subdued day yesterday Ethel is back to her lively self :dog_running-186.gif: she is visiting Dave and Julie regularly, eating well and liberally distributing her toys. Despite being more comfortable around familiar people and places she is still very jumpy about any change in routine or environment which means it is difficult to find a practical solution for catching her. Everyone is alert to the possibility and will be ready as soon as the opportunity arises :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif:

Easter Sunday or Ethel Sundae !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enter "Dog lost recovery UK South" ...Nicki and Sarah her friend who gave up their day to attempt to capture Ethel. They used a large trap which was large enough for Ethel not to be too suspicious ... oh and bacon, sausages and other irresistible temptations. It took 3 and a half hours and they captured not only Ethel BUT THE MOMENT

Oh what a shock for poor Ethel, with the door clanging shut. Glad her friend Dave was there to reassure her, bless her heart. Excellent work everyone, and thank God for Julie and Dave, as without them, where would Ethel be by now. I hope Ethel isn't too scared and settles into her first night ok. She really is a beautiful dog. Hats off to Nicki and Sarah.

Poor little love but she’ll hopefully realise she can trust people & life is going to get a whole lot easier. What wonderful people to give her so much time. Restores your faith in human nature

How is Ethel doing in kennels? Do hope she’s not too distressed. It must seem strange after straying for so long. Will probably take quite a time to acclimatise

I had the pleasure of taking Ethel to our vets on Thursday. I transferred her into a crate without due fuss. The crate had so many clipped on it's joints just in case she attempted to cratebust or the joint gave way during maneuverers but no Ethel is very subdue when confined. She goes into submission mode lying flat.

Our vet said they didn't witness any outbursts and she continued to receive. We carried her into the vet in the crate as we don't take any chances with Ethel who is a flight risk. Ethel was spayed, chipped and 1st vaccinated. She had a full check over from our senior vet who has been on 'alert' for weeks to receive her if we had managed to capture her. She is in very good health and young.

Ethel was carried in the crate back into the dog mobile and then again carried in the crate into her kennel. She remains the model patient in her recovery. Sweet girl...soooo pleased she is with us. I'm am sleeping at nights again!
