Re: Henry Mastiff x DofB 2012 Gatwick Kenns
Today I had the joy of meeting handsome Henry
There's a real calm and dignity to him, he was so gentle and polite when I went into his kennel, and he took treats so nicely with a paw offered right away.
We had a good walk, enjoying a good sniff everywhere - well he did anyway! He was quite strong on the lead, but responded whenever I called him, and waited calmly when we had to cross the road.
Back in his kennel he gave me lots of kisses, as if to say thank you
What a lovely boy

Re: Henry Mastiff x DofB 2012 Godalming Temp Foster
I recently had my trip to Oz cancelled but still had to take a week off work so I thought I’d try out the world of fostering for RR. Henry was one of the dog I regularly walked when at Guildford so what better place to start.
I picked Henry up on Friday afternoon and although initially quite excitable in the car, he soon settled and loved to stick his head against the window. Within 5 minutes of being at the flat he had settled in and has been amazing ever since. I don’t get a peep from him all night, just the sound of snoring.
He isn’t massively keen on off lead dogs so we try to avoid them but I generally can’t fault the boy.
He doesn’t deserve to have been in kennels as long as he has and I would love for him to find his forever home rather than go back to kennels. My place isn’t suitable long term as I don’t have a garden and he would love somewhere secure to play.
Anyone after a dog that gives unconditional love, does sit and paw for treats and loves kisses and cuddles would not be disappointed with this boy.

Henry and I headed into town yesterday to grab the last few bits before we try and avoid busy places. This included a trip to Pets at home. During the trip we encountered a couple of children and it was very difficult to stop him going in for strokes. He seems to generally love humans

Henry had a funny five minutes this morning going mad around the flat. I realised at that moment that this is definitely not the long term place for him. He definitely needs that garden.
Luckily my friend has a large secure garden so we went up there for an hour for lots of exploring and running around. Just what he needed!

Today’s Henry lessons. Henry will come and see what’s going on when you rustle food and initially take an interest when you eat but he doesn’t beg and loses interest after a few minutes.
Henry also makes quite a deep grumbling noise when he wants something. However, he is only speaking to you. He is asking to play, or for a snack or tummy rubs. With the tummy rubs when you stop he will speak and paw you for more.
He is very cute in the way he lets you know he wants something!

Today I discovered Henry has a love for cardboard! Luckily the file was going in the bin anyway!
Re: Henry Mastiff x DofB 2012 Godalming Temp Foster
Unfortunately I had to go back to work today so Henry’s foster break with me came to an end yesterday afternoon when I took him back to kennels. What a heart wrenching experience that was. I have grown so fond of this boy over the last 10 days and he has been the most amazing house guest. My flat feels empty without.
I managed to get Henry some garden time before heading back and I think these show how much he loves some off lead time in a secure space.
This boy really is wasted in kennels.

What a lovely boy Henry is, he did his excited spin when I first went into his kennel and was very patient whilst I faffed with his harness, he even turned round and gave me a smooch on the nose. We had a little mooch around in the paddock and once I threw the tennis ball Henry got SO excited. I tried walking him afterwards, he carried his ball the whole way round and then pulled back to his kennel so I think he just wanted to go back and play again! He’s so easy going and gentle.

Handsome king Henry and I took to the woods today. He's great with passing people and children on bikes. We kept our distance but he hardly seemed fussed at all. We also passed our Chynna and Darren, both dogs showed their good manners.
He kept trying to lead me to the river bank, to which he finally succeeded. Resistance was futile! I could see the longing within him for a quick frontcrawl.
