Two lovely walks with Marshall in the past two days. I have a seriously soft spot for this boy. He is just so affectionate and loves to cuddle his humans. He doesn’t really understand how big he is especially when he sits down next to you and leans on you. I was very impressed with him as there are lots of squirrels around at the moment and although he is interested, he doesn’t gallop off and he also seems to be good whenever he encounters the resident cat. He didn’t make any effort to give chase. Marshall loves eating blackberries and doesn’t wait for you to pick them, he just does it himself. love4.gif

Another lovely walk with Marshall today. He was very good passing the sheep and took a few squirrels in his stride. He loved walked across the fields and sitting by the lake in the sun love4.gif

So, I think Marshall and I have been out and about three times in the last week.
Today, I brought my husband along to walk with us. To be honest, Marshall was mostly bothered about who had the treats!! He is VERY good motivated. Which is a great thing as that makes him super good at ‘sit and look at me’ if you want to distract him or let people or other dogs pass you in a tight space. He really only has eyes for the treat!!
He is a lovely boy with love to give.

It's no secret that Marshall is one of my favourites here at rescue remedies. Each time we're out on a walk I get to know this adorable lump more and more. Marshall has been walking so well with his kennel mates, below is a photo of him walking alongside RR Abbey.
M1.jpg
He also passes dogs and people with no hassle at all, we just step aside and I say to Marshall 'watch me' or 'wait' and he will sit and wait for a treat whilst others are passing. he's extremely laid back when he's out, I often walk Marshall with some of our less confident dogs because he takes no notice of them when they are shouting at him! 0002.gif] Marshall also loves to stop for a rest when he's out, halfway we will usually have a sit down in the sun. Just look at that handsome face!
m5.jpg
Every time we go for a walk, I look forward to going to the paddock afterwards because here we have cuddles! Marshall does need to get to know you before he gives you kisses and cuddles, but it doesn't take long and its so worth the wait.
m2.jpg
he could just sit with his humans all day and relax, I think he would be so easy going in a home environment.
m3.jpg
Marshall does also have his goofy side! He LOVES his boomer ball, or in fact, any type of ball!
m4.jpg
we had a good run around in the paddock the other day after our walk, and he helped himself to all of the toys. He likes to chomp on a ball and have a belly rub at the same time, just look at this goofy photo below!
m6.jpg
I don't think there's any way to put into writing on here how wonderful Marshall is, he just needs a loving home that can put the time into building a relationship with him and continue working with him. I personally think he would be great to train because he is so food orientated. within this year we've worked on sit, lay down, paw, in your bed, leave it (still needs some practice) wait, watch me and I'm sure he could learn so much more.

Marshall really enjoyed his walk today in the beautiful sunshine. We met many dogs and walkers and he was particular good with an off lead spaniel that rushed towards him, he just ignored it. Nothing to do with the ham I might have had in my pocket! He was keen to show off his posing.

Lovely walk with Marshall today despite the rain. We went along the river and there were hundreds of ducks which he ignored. As others have said, he is very keen on his treats and no problem at all to get past any other dog if you have a treat in your pocket. He was his usual laid back self. When we got back home we went and sat in the dry on the sofa and had a cuddle. He is such an affectionate boy, an ideal companion for someone with a big squishy sofa with a Marshall size gap in their life. love4.gif

So nice to get out for a walk with Marshall in the sun. We met several other dogs with no problem. Marshall was very chilled and happy to pose for some photos. He walked so nicely along the river, ignoring a big group of ramblers and a couple of loose dogs. love4.gif

And here’s the star of the show, Mr Marsh!
Marshall is just so unbelievably easy to walk. He trots along at your pace, walks beautifully with other dogs and picks himself berries along the way!

It’s no secret that Marshall has pulled at my heart strings here at rescue remedies, I so hope his time comes soon. In a home I think he would just be a human shadow! He loves being close to people and once he trusts you, you will notice him showing character more and more.
I think he would be great to train, we’ve learnt so much and are currently working on ‘leave’ as due to Marshall’s past, he does find it hard to leave food when he sees it.i have no doubt however that this could be corrected with some one to one work, he’s so intelligent and really enjoys learning new things/ pleasing people.

Marshall and I had a nice wander around the Chantry’s today. He really enjoyed going somewhere a bit different and was very well behaved. As Tamsin and others have said, he is very treat motivated and also likes to please so he is easy when other dogs are around. He looked longingly at an off lead dog playing ball in the park on the way home but behaved very well and walked nicely on the narrow pavement. Beautiful boy love4.gif
