Re: Lara Lurcher pup DofB 21.11.19 Redhill Foster
Lara has really settled in now. She has decided to respect Marv's space now (most of the time) but when in the garden or on a walk they play around together really nicely and he forgets to be a grumpy old man with her.
Lara is a young pup so likes to bite things at the moment and her teeth are quite sharp so she sometimes needs telling by the other dogs when she gets over excited and jumps all over them or bites their tails and feet. This tends to happen for about half an hour after each meal and she can be relentless Initially she wasn't taking any notice and we had to intervene a few times as being barked at by Marv was just getting her even more excited She is learning to back off now when told which is really good.
As you can see she is very beautiful and her nature is just as lovely. As much as it is hard work having a puppy around we have really enjoyed having her to stay this week. Lara is quite strong willed and is still seeking food wherever she can so you can't eat a sandwich on the sofa whilst she's around! She loves to run around with a ball or toy and boy can she move She has gained confidence outside and now will go in the garden even in the dark on her own to explore and is loving her short walks.
Toilet training hasn't moved on much - she will go outside and toilet but goes inside just as much. Generally she goes to somewhere near the door so is heading in the right direction although the landing also seems to be a favourite spot for some reason! Training pads were just something to rip up so a mop and bucket is the answer.
