Dearest Kia blossomed with us and was loved by all. Sadly her system let her down and deep seated infection meant that on her 4th operation we needed to say goodbye sweet love be free......... We love you

Kia's Thread below:
Kia's Story: Kia was found abandoned and unclaimed within a West of London council pound more than once. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Kia is now neutered, chipped, and vaccinations are in progress. Kia's a fat lump were removed from her leg and our vet wasn't concerned about it. Kia was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Kia's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:

14.4.19: Hi Lynne got a wee girl she’s been looking for a rescue since 21 February with no interest at all Kia is a traditional Staffie lady, microchipped. Kia has been in pound before and previously been claimed. When Kia 1st come in she was very stressed and anxious and didn’t seem to be interested in staff she just wanted to get out. But over time she has calmed down and is engaging now with staff and happier. Kia has some suspicious looking lumps on her which will need investigation. She is not keen on other dogs so think would need to be pet free when rehomed. Feel she has just been left to her own devices a lot in the past. Xx I WILL DO A FUNDRAISER FOR VET BILLS FOR HER IF THAT WOULD HELP. Sorry to ask but getting desperate for her Cx

Kia comes into us on the 27th April 19

Kia is a sweetie. She was very keen to get out and about on her walk yesterday. Kia is lively and enthusiastic on her walk. She is a bundle of joy, and her joy is infectious. She certainly made me smile for the whole walk which matched her own smile and constantly wagging tail. She is keen to explore and sniff but she is very connected and listening and happy to follow wherever you want to go. Being out and about for Kia is a big, exciting adventure. love4.gif love4.gif love4.gif

Kia enjoyed a walk with Louise this morning. We started the walk together with Victor and I. Kia was not really interested in Victor but Victor seemed to like her and he is a bit picky about his dog friends, so that is a good sign. We got left behind as we are so slow and Kia carried on with Louise, making sure she did not miss anything along the way in her enthusiastic, joyful way. When I was doing her photoshoot, Kia would not keep still, she was more interested in having attention and cuddles than posing for the camera. :biggrin.gif:

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Sweet Kia lost her battle today after struggling with a deep seated infection which resisted treatment and meant our vets had to operate 4x. She was a very good patient.

Kia was loved by our volunteers and is and will be missed by us all... angel13.gif]
