Rolly Boxer x DOB 08.11 - Feb 21
Apr 18, 2012 2:26 pm
We sadly lost our beloved Rolly ex RR in Feb this year to Lymphoma . He's left a big hole as you'd probably expect as we were extremely attached to him. He was a lot more settled in his more senior days- still pulled like a train and couldn't be trusted with strangers but well behaved and a snuggle pup at home. If you could add him to the Rainbow Bridge section that would be lovely .
Best wishes
Nathalie and Simon x Homing requirements: Rolly needs an experienced dog home to guide him and train his puppy ways into the dear dog he is destined to be. He is fearful in certain situations with strangers so needs lots of trust building but readily translates his concern into tender warmth. Needs a focus of 'healing' to build trust. Could live with another dog. Good around older children again gently introduced.
His Story: Found stray as a young 1 year old dog, unclaimed. His ways are immature for his age but he is fast catching up. So needs a home setting to support his skill building. Neutered and vaccinated. Kennelled near Gatwick with occasional weekend foster.
Advert: Rolly is so the young Boxer cross with clumsy paws and transfixing penetrating LOVE gaze. He wants to trust and needs to love. Kennelling is like an insult to injury. Let’s wipe his first year aside and start afresh! He needs lead training as he steam trains initially on his walk, 10 minutes in and he is beginning to relax and 'just keen'. He has good dog skills and tends to be flummoxed if challenged. Promptly becomes the big baby seeking protection from his human. House trained. Travels well.
Rolly has a velvet lilac brindle coat, the Boxer shape, build and magnificent head. Ideal for an ex-boxer or large dog owner to take him in hand and offer him the guidance and support he so needs especially at this point in his life. Rolly Polly pudding or pie?

Yes. What a super puppy....so excited to get into the car and didn't need any encouragement to pop into the crate which was far too small for him! But he was so obviously happy to be out of danger and in the hands of true and compassionate friends who will love and provide for him until his forever home turns up. And somebody will have a magnificent companion.
How is it that these dogs appear to know that they can be certain of a positive future with RR and that they will be given back their dignity and treated with respect by all with whom they come into contact. And how does RR come across such great dogs????

Rolly is one gorgeous young lad, very handsome with a lovely nature.
I thought he had taken a fancy of Kelly, but it turns out he took a fancy to Louise or to be more precise Louise's pockets, he did a beautiful heel to them
Whilst he walked ahead of me he did keep looking back with that same look Rico gives, a sort of 'this is fun are you all right back there!'

I took Rolly for a short stroll in the field today to get some photos of the handsome chap. He really is magnificent! He is gentle and puppy like and with fur like velvet. Â A calm easy boy who walks nicely on the lead and loves fuss and attention.
He was far too busy to pose for photos though

Took the very striking Rolly and Fudge as they walked well together and was Rolly always checking if Fudge was ok, waiting for him if he got a bit behind. He was also mindfull of me walking him and in fact kept looking up and then licking my hand as if to say thank you!!! He is such a lovely boy who has the playfull character of the boxer and the loving character of a Staffie. I am sure won't be long in kennels

Rolly enjoying the paddock for the first time. Very focused on dog sounds ; its raining but so lovely to see him free
Rolly has intelligence and you can see his mind working how to get to meet the dogs. He will need a secure garden
Video: Rolly enjoying running
Video: Rolly distracted in the paddock by his dog friends
He is a dream..

Rolly took me for a walk on Sunday! It was a fab day out on the group walk, with lots of sights and smells and puddles to drink. Rolly was very interested in meeting as many of the other dogs as he could but particularly liked Ella, Kitson and Reg. Rolly is a powerhouse of energy and would probably make a great running dog, he could probably have kept going for a while after our walk was at an end.
Once back in his kennel he immediately focused on me, settled and wanted cuddles, he is such a softy, someone will be blessed to home such a handsome friendly lad.
