For Sunday’s walk with Chase we paired him up super speedster Alfie to see how the two lads would mesh. The answer- very well! Because of the lads’ fast approach to walking we managed to give them an extra long outing to burn off some of their considerable energy. Off we went across fields, stiles and bridges, with both dogs taking it brilliantly in their stride.

Chase was very good all the way round with only some minor woofing at an Alsatian, enjoying some play time at various stages, and running with Rachel and Alfie for a bit. He also had a splash in the river to cool down. A fantastic way to spend a Sunday and this fine Fell was terrific company.

Chase was full of the joys of spring today and in a particularly playful mood. Across the fields we went and he was really keen on short sprints back and forth, tugging occasionally at the lead and showing his lovely white smile.

Mr C was fantastic company as usual today and full of mischief as we ran around the fields. Today we decided to give the woods a miss and hit the wide open spaces which Chase really likes, jogging around some of the big green spaces round the back of the water works.

Chase was on good form and, apart from one bout of woofing at an approaching gentleman, he negotiated the route well and loves his agility tests under and over the stiles. Just a champion terrier and he’ll be an action packed bundle of fun for the right people.

Chase was the first walk of the day and, with all quiet other than birds chirping, we made our way around the woods on the trails. Chase has a keen instinct to stick his nose into holes in the ground and at one stage I thought he was going to go through a tree stump to Narnia!

Chase and Alfie continued their burgeoning bromance as walking buddies today. As a walking pair they are a brilliant match as they are both front foot forward marchers and set a cracking pace all the way around. Today we took in fields, woods and the local housing estate in Horley and the lads were both in synch and brilliantly behaved, even when encountering go karts, other dogs and footballers. A great afternoon spent with two top terriers.

Of the two, Chase is probably just the slightly more relaxed but still very keen to stick his nose into every burrow and bit of hedge. He is also extremely loving and we find time each walk to have a sit down and a cuddle. Over time this has progressed to using my arm as a chin rest, meaning photos are now quite difficult to get!

The Chase partnered up with his Jaggie pal Alfie today, with the similar energy levels of this dynamic duo being great for each other. Chase was happy to play second fiddle as Alfie went charging around after all manner of wildlife.

Moving into more built up areas, Chase handled it all quite well, although did still aim some passing growls at a couple of dogs who got too close.

Moving back into the fields, Chase was a lot happier with the wide open spaces and led from the front as we indulged in some running. Full of beans, Chase would seemingly run for hours if he could.

Today the Chase was well and truly on! Very early into our walk, our fantastic Fell Terrier found a footy in the bushes and we spent a good chunk of time in the fields having a bit of a kick about. Chase is actually more fascinated by the ball and less destructive than some terriers, so we managed to get it all the way back to the grounds for some other dogs to use.

After all that exertion, Chase also found time to cool off in the river, enjoying a quiet paddle.

Chase joined his pal Alfie for today’s ramble and upon collection we did a small lap of the grounds before heading on what we thought would be our usual fields walk. However, to our shock, after crossing the stiles through a couple of fields, the third was filled to the brim with a herd of cows blocking off our next crossing.

Rather than letting this get in the way, we took a very circuitous route around the fields, exploring the hedgerows and running through the long grass. Chase seemed very fascinated by the new smells and was very reluctant to leave the fields given so many interesting things. Chase also loves to stop and let you fuss him and, with his silky velvet ears, once you start you can’t stop!

Both Alfie and Chase seem very comfortable in each other’s company now after a dozen or so walks as a pair. They share full on terrier instincts but are also quite affectionate when they get to know you and Saturdays are a lot more fun with these two in tandem! The real hope is someone else gets to experience this by taking one of this terrific terrier twosome to be part of their pack on a permanent basis.

I was lucky to walk Chase yesterday. I have walked another with him before but never really got to know him. Chase is a real loving companion(no humping). We met up with Trudy who was quite excitable but Chase didnt mind at all. Later we had a run around the paddock but due to the rain decided to get back into the dry.

Im looking forward to our next outing or even better hearing he has found his new home.

Chase and Alfie continued their canine bromance with another trip out together this Saturday. Both dogs were out of the traps quickly, probably amped up by Alfie spying a wood full of squirrels. Luckily, despite the lousy week of wind and rain, we were blessed with the sun coming out and this made for a great atmosphere as we trooped up to Horley.

Chase enjoyed some running across the fields and was the far more well behaved of the pair when they came across some cow pats (see Alfie’s posts for more!).

Chase continues to blossom and was very good with a series of challenges, ranging from off leash dogs, cyclists, runners and walkers. Always a pleasure and the two dogs seem to be very comfortable in each other’s company.
