Winnie's Story: Winnie was rescued with her older sister and 15 other dogs from a dog hoarder by a Rescue. As is the case with many terrier/ bullbreed bitch pairings, they have begun to fight which has necessitated rehoming one. Both should settle as only dogs. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place. Winnie is now neutered, chipped, and is fully vaccinated. Winnie was homed directly via our vets to her new family.

If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and sadly due to unprecedented interest, we will only be able to contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Winnie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: Sadly Winnie and her sister's relationship has broken down and her caring family are eager to make both safe.

Winnie will be spayed tomorrow 26th February at our vets and is going into spay recovery foster

Winnie is settling into our home very very well. She is a super little dog, very calm, friendly, happy, affectionate and well behaved. She’s very respectful of the cats too which is good. So far so good!! She’s missing her doggy sister so when she’s fully recovered from her op she can meet our neighbours dogs and go for walkies with them. We’re looking forward to some fun times with this dear soul.

Well after a difficult few days for poor Winnie, having left her family and sister, had an operation, then a 1 and a 1/2 hour car drive, been introduced to 2 strange people and 2 cats, we think Winnie has settled in (see photo!) She is so very sweet, fun and loving, we can't remember life without her now. She reminds us so much of our other little Patterdale/JRT X who died 5 years ago, with her funny and determined little terrier ways! She's been sleeping quietly all night in her bed next to me, and won't get out until she is told she can, which we were very impressed with. She going for very short walks to wee and poo, until she is fully recovered from her op - and is loving them. She does pull a bit on the lead so there's a lot of bribery going on with treats because we don't want her tummy wound getting damaged. We can't wait until she is fully better and we can go further afield. She loves our cat Max, and washes his ears. She tried to stand on his back but he squared up to her (no claws needed) and she rolled on her back in submission immediately. Our other cat Eva is a work in progress, but they can walk past each other without any fur flying now and we have high hopes that they will settle soon.
We just love this little character and are so grateful that she is now a part of our family. Thank you RR! thumbs.gif

Winnie has been with us for over a month now and has settled right in, definitely becoming a permanent member of our pack.

We just love this funny, kind, cheeky, playful, loving, happy little dog and are so thankful to RR and her previous home for letting her come to live with us.

Winnie has been with us for nearly 4 months and she is firmly established in our pack and has settled really well. We can’t remember life without her. Our cat Max and Winnie cuddle up together for a snooze and Winnie is being very kind and patient with our other cat Eva. She’s getting us walking much more which is great for us and she’s having fun play times with our neighbours dogs when we have to go out. Everyone stops us to greet her when we’re out; she’s just so pretty, friendly and such a happy little soul, great with other dogs and children too, although watch out if you’re a squirrel!! She loves a cuddle and really is the best dog in the world (I’m sure others might argue with us about this though!) We absolutely love this super funny little pup. ❤️
