Thank you for your lovely messages. Teddie's such a well behaved guest.

Teddie loves playing with his tennis ball and he’s getting better at leaving it at your feet, rather than having to extract it from his mini ‘fangs’. He’s such a clever little boy! He also loves his squeaky snake which is a great energy release.

He met Chris’s sister and niece today and he was on his best behaviour. We met them in the driveway to give him time to adjust. He gave a soft growl and a bark, to show that he was a bit nervous, but he then put his paws on their knees and licked their hands. We then went into the house together and he was as good as gold, lapping up all the cuddles. It took him no time to jump on their laps.

Our neighbours’ dog is very barky when in the garden and yesterday Teddie barked back at him. I think he was defending his territory. However, today, when the dog barked at him, Teddie checked the perimeter, made sure it was safe, and ignored him completely! I was so very proud of him!

Teddie’s very nervous of random noises and prefers being in a room with you. Yesterday he decided that he was brave enough to have a nap on our bed on his own - I was working next door. However, after 30 minutes or so, he must have heard a noise from the road and started barking. Chris went to check on him, to reassure him and he was ok after a few minutes.

In terms of grooming, he could do with regular brushing of his soft lush coat. Just like Pomeranians and Pugs, he has an undercoat and regular brushing will definitely minimise his shedding. He loves it and lets me brush him thoroughly every morning.

His new family needs to be very patient with him, as he’s got some nerves, which will need working on. This is understandable, if you consider that he’s still very young and has not had a great start in life. He truly is a lovely, affectionate and cuddly little boy.

Amazing insights - thank you. Teddie is a little dog who is so adorable in kennels and is so easy to walk and it is not surprising to know that he is just as adorable in a home even though like all rescue dogs he would need time to settle and get comfortable. love4.gif

We’re pleased to say that it was a delight to have Teddie here with us for the past 10 days. He has been an impeccable house guest.
He’s a very active pooch as he’s still very young and needs quite a bit of exercise, play time and mind stimulation, along with cuddle time. He would be a great addition to the right household.
Teddie was very good at letting us know when he wanted to go on an adventure and he’s super clever. He sat patiently to let us clip his harness and leads on.

We’ve mentioned this before, but we thought we’d highlight it again, he’s well house trained. He’s also really well behaved in the kitchen. We cook often and he didn’t mind us pottering about in the kitchen. He’d come to check on us every now and then, to make sure he wasn’t missing out on food, but he wouldn't sit and beg. Same when we were eating at the table. He loves his food, especially cucumber. He loved to have us feed him small cucumber cubes, fresh from the fridge.
Teddie is great on the lead and takes directions really well. Initially, he was not keen on people creeping up behind him, which is understandable, but this is no longer the case. He checks them out and he’s not bothered at all by them. When he’s walking about all he cares about is to make the most of his adventure and learn as much as possible.
He has the occasional short energy burst that can be easily managed by throwing the ball in the garden or playing with his toy snake. This usually lasts 5 minutes or less and then he gets tired and he’s happy to chill on the sofa or on the floor next to you.
He’s an extremely loving and cuddly dog and we really hope that he finds his forever sofa very soon, as he’s extremely deserving.

Thanks Mon & Chris for giving some brilliant insights on Teddie that any future owners would really welcome and for providing him with what looks a brilliant foster environment. He looks an absolute star and has been lucky with the weather. Here's hoping that Teddie gets to do this on a permanent basis very soon!
