Winnie's Story: Winnie was handed into a vet with a fractured leg which some information was filtered through was caused by a kick to her. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Winnie is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Winnie was in foster with 3 other dogs in Kingston Upon Thames whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Winnie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: We received a call from a dog warden who was going to have Winnie put to sleep but a colleague had pleaded with her to call us to give Winnie a chance.

Because of our fabulous vets we were able to accept Winnie today and she was operated on to put a plate in her leg and is recovering in our vets overnight

Little Winnie is a winner and came out of our vets yesterday and joined Fergus in foster! Marion & Dez fostered for us about 9 years ago and offered again as they are again able. So lovely for little Winnie

Young Winnie is a joy!!
Considering she's been starved, she doesn't rush her food & takes treats very gently.
She's such a good girl, she does her business outside & even with her broken leg she is still trying to bounce around & play.
Her fur is so soft & silky & she loves kisses & cuddles. She loves our dog, so would either be a great friend for another dog or I'm sure she'd relish being the sole pet receiving all the cuddles 💜

Thank you Marion, Dez and of course Fergus for taking in Winnie in her time of need. I am so glad RR was there to save her. A tough start but now with a loving foster home you can see how relaxed she is. :thanks.gif: 0093.gif :havefun.gif:
Would you like to walk our lovely dogs too?

Winnie had her cast off today and came to visit us all at the kennels. She was a little over whelmed on a busy Friday with all the people coming and going and you can see in some of her photos her tail was tucked down between her legs bless her. She stood very patiently for her photo shoot and was happy to very gently accept an treats on offer. She then went off down the lane for a little walk with a couple of our walkers before returning to her foster home. She is a gentle, friendly girl, with the softest coat and a real stunner.

Winnie's personality is starting to shine through!!
She's just learning about playing with toys... she's enjoying throwing a rope toy around... bounds after tennis balls, the picks them up and drops them, then pushes them with her nose 🤣 She is enjoying life!!
Winnie takes everything in her stride, friend's popped around & she greeted them gently, with a waggy tail & wanting strokes.
If she starts doing something she shouldn't a quick 'AH' & she stops immediately.
She's a puppy after all, so still lots to learn. But her basics are there... house trained, gentle with food, gentle with people & loves other dogs. :icon_barking_dog-116.gif:

Winnie is recovering brilliantly!
She rarely has to wear the 'cone of shame', as she's coping really well by not nibbling her stitches.
She has added a lot to our home over the last 5 days, she's a real cuddler & because she's a skinny girl sleeps a lot. But when she's awake she's a typical pup, looking for the next new thing she can do!
She's starting to realise her name, treats are helping with this 😉 and we will continue to love & train her as much as we can whilst we have the privilege of having her 💜
