Hi everyone

It is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know that we lost Pippa suddenly last night.

We had the best nearly 3 years with her, she bought love, laughter and a smile to our faces on a daily basis.

Ps she even learned to get on with her sister 🥰. FiFi is going to miss her partner in crime greatly.

Current Status: Homed
Pippa's Story: Pippa was living with her litter sister in Spain due to her owner's loss of a partner, and the resulting change in accommodation. These two litter sisters found it hard to adjust to living in a flat in an urban setting, and began to fight. They both need their own homes and gardens again in a low dog density setting. Rescue Remedies offered them Rescue places. Pippa is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Pippa is in boarding kennels near Guildford whilst she awaits her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Pippa's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
Terrier Rescue was asked to help Pippa (and also her litter sister) to find a Patterdale home who can offer her a safe, supported and secure home.
Pippa comes into kennel on the 5th January 2019

What a dear little terrier and how she enjoyed her walk this afternoon. She showed an interest in squirrels and birds and definitely wanted cuddles and treats. She is a lovely little girl. Let's hope she is homed soon. angel13.gif]

what a lovely sweet dog rita is she walks v nicely alongside her litter sister fifi not even a hint of a bark between them - she loves a few cuddles and has obv been well trained if you get the sausages out you only have to say sit and immediately shes sitting there v patient waiting for her treats she seems to have a brilliant temperament we have walked lots of patties and she is one of the best anyone looking for a smallish sweet natured terrier should look no further

Rita was not feeling well today. She refused all treats and did not want to walk far. We went for a short walk - new walker Freya took her litter sister Fifi and I took Rita. When we got back to the pen I made her bed and she immediately cuddled down into it. Poor little thing. Get well soon Rita. angel13.gif] angel13.gif] angel13.gif]

I walked Rita today and if I was a terrier girl, I would take her home! She is lovely. A very easy walk, loves sausages and even walks on her hind legs beside you, just to show off and let you know she is worthy of a treat or two! Loves to sniff and walks really well alongside Fifi. A lovely couple of patterdales! X

we walked rita with her sister fifi yesterday and what star dogs they are - we have walked many terriers over the last year or so and these two are top of the tree - so v well behaved and well trained rita would be a great addition to any family and its a real pleasure to walk her/them - any day we walk at the kennels and rita (or fifi) are there they would be top of our list to walk - if you are looking for a well mannered dog that is already trained and loves cuddles and affection then look no further than rita

I couldn't agree more. I walked this darling little dog towards the end of my day's walking - lovely little girl. She enjoyed a brisk walk and a sniff and then I popped her back into her pen to enjoy some sausage treats. :smiley-bounce016.gi: angel13.gif]

My first meeting with this little dinky girl with her sister Fifi (With walker JessS) :smiley-chores002.gif:
Amazing temperament when entering her space, a little excited with a few jumps but who wouldn't be knowing you're going out on an adventure walk!
First introduction was done with sitting with her for a few minutes offering treats, and she loves a treat!
On lead Rita was amazing, at one point I had to check she was still there, a very light dog to walk, no pulling and was happy to walk by my side with some typical terrier diversions to sniff and have a nosey about but she didn't go into an OTT "squirrel hunt mode" :D
She was happy walking along side Fifi (her sister) and during the walk she was good with other dogs and people passing, she had a few little barks but was just saying "hello". Rita wasnt too keen on getting her paws wet and muddy today but then again, it was very wet under foot, so I don't blame her but she just got on with it with a little encouragement. She was very responsive with the sitting requests for treat, ever so soft in taking treats out of my hand (no snatching) See video.

Back Kennels, again easy and calm with taking off her harness and she even got a new collar thumbs.gif , so she was amazing at letting a "stranger" handle her around her head/neck area (no nervousness shown at all).
Such a sweet little pickle Heart fill with love.gif]
Thanks for the amazing day Rita.
