Joseph's Story: Joseph was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a Northern council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Joseph is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Joseph is now in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Joseph's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
Urgent call to ask if we could save Joseph as his kennels were closing that day and they hadn't been able to find him a foster or Rescue place and he would be losing his life.

We agreed to take Joseph as an emergency 1.11.18

Joseph is a bundle of staffie gorgeousness. He is a small chunky boy with the most stunning tiger stripes. I got a lovely friendly greeting form his yesterday and he was keen to go out. He trots along at a nice pace and is connected and listening. He accepts a fuss but is not overly demanding of affection. We did not pass any dogs so I can't say what he is like around other dogs but he is a delight to walk and spend time with.

I met the gorgeous Joseph this afternoon, he was friendly and was keen to go out. He was very easy to get in and out the kennel block, he ignored the other dogs barking. He was very alert and keen to chase squirrels along the way. Joseph is a lovely boy with great markings, he is a very special boy with a lot to give in the right environment. love4.gif

I met Joseph for the first time today. What a total sweetheart. A typical staffie boy with a swagger as he walks. Very alert to his surroundings, displaying his love of squirrels! Joseph is a very friendly boy and easy to walk. We met a few dogs out and about on his walk but no real reaction from him. Joseph does a lovely sit for treats. He jumped up and gave me kisses afterwards as if to say thank you. A real gentleman with excellent manners. Super boy. Love him love4.gif xx

Joseph gave me a lovely greeting this afternoon, he was a little unsure to start with when I clipped the Leeds on but very quickly realised we were going out. He was very interested in anything that moved in the woods. We passed a few dogs whilst out, Joseph doesn't react but seems to want to socialise with them. When we got back to the kennels he enjoyed his sausage treats.

Joseph is a sweetheart and today he showed us his dog social skills walking with Billy. Billy is a very social dog and Joseph immediately wanted to be near Billy and spent the whole walk trying to keep up with him, his little legs pounding along, his tail wagging and his bottom wiggling. love4.gif Joseph greeted Billy politely at the beginning of the walk and then proceeded to enjoy a relaxed and calm walk, being very respectful to Billy and also passing a couple of dogs without reacting at all, just a cursory glance.

I had a wonderful greeting from Joseph today, he was as previously very easy to get in and out the kennel block. Joseph makes lovely little snuffly noises as we walked along occasionally stopping to sniff new smells. He is a pleasure to be out and about with. He was such a good boy when we got back to his kennel sitting patiently before giving him a few treats. angel13.gif]

When I entered Joseph's kennel this afternoon he seemed not to be his usual self. After walking a short while Joseph was coughing and wasn't very enthusiastic about being out and so I decided to return to the kennels. Apparently poor Joseph hasn't been himself for a couple of days and so hopefully just a temporary blip. Xxxxx

I hadn't walked Joseph before and was told he can be nervous, but he was fine with me in his kennel and even let me take his woolly jumper off and out it back in again after his walk. I hear Joseph has been quite poorly, and he did cough and sneeze a bit today, but managed a good walk so I think he's on the mend. I fell for this dear little boy, he really is a sweetheart and we had some lovely cuddles. Joseph is a very easy dog to walk, very well mannered and friendly. He had no reaction around any other dogs. I could easily plonk this boy on my sofa, if current dog allowed (she won't) so hope he's homed soon. A heartbreaker.
