Bizzy's Story: Bizzy was taken into kennels for being 'out of control in a public area', and his former owner was not allowed to take him back. He is now muzzle trained, and has learnt to settle whilst out and about. We hope his need for a muzzle and lead during walks outside his home (a Control Order) won't put people off, as he adores people, has a super temperament and really is the gentlest of boys. Bizzy would enjoy his own very secure garden, so he can enjoy off-lead time without a muzzle. Bizzy came to us in October 2018, but has been kennelled since March 2017. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place, saving his life. Bizzy is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Bizzy was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
We were asked if we could help Bizzy whose release is a condition he is always muzzled in public.

Bizzy is one of the soppiest dogs I have ever met. He is super friendly, he clearly loves people. It was no trouble putting on his muzzle ready for a walk and it certainly didn't detract from his enjoyment of our walk. He is such a happy, easy companion to walk with and is always up for fuss and cuddles if you stop.

After our walk this morning, Bizzy and I headed to the paddock for some off lead fun. He loved the freedom to run about, have a good old mooch and sniff, a roll around and cuddles. love4.gif

Bizzy definitely is a little social butterfly and enjoys the company of other dogs. He enjoyed a walk with Frankie this morning.

I love all the dogs I walk, but wow, when I met this little heartbreaker, I was bowled over. I am so in love with this boy, it broke my heart leaving him today. Bizzy is one of the most gorgeous, friendly, gentle, cuddly dogs I have ever met, love, love, love him! I cannot imagine how he got a control order, there's always a story I know, but someone has let this lad down big time. Sad he has to wear a muzzle now, but I have to say, he doesn't object to it at all. He never tried to rub it off and it really doesn't bother him. It bothered me, but not him, bless his socks. So I met this little dumpling in his kennel, where he got into my lap and gave the best cuddles before we could actually get going on our walk! He trundles along, proper staffie boy, and walks on a loose lead. He met all people and dogs in an excellent manner everywhere and is such a delight to be with. Back in the paddock, we got rid of the muzzle, and Bizzy got in my lap and washed my face for me. He is such a great little companion, he runs around on his little legs, rolls over on his back and stays there for ages while you rub his tummy. Not one negative about this boy, super, super dog.

So, Bizzy and I sneaked off for a few hours today for fun and adventures. Bizzy was perfectly behaved and the most wonderful, easy friendly companion you could wish for. His great love in life is people and he just wants to be with his human, be cuddled and be loved. Having driven to my house (he was brilliant in the car, sitting in the passenger seat) we headed out for a lovely long walk.

Then home to my house for some R and R. Bizzy just pottered around following me like a little shadow, keen to be close by my side and involved in whatever I was doing. He left the cat food alone, but I did not get a sense of how he would be with cats because only one of my cats showed their face and scarpered as soon as he saw Bizzy. Bizzy sniffed around where the cats hang out and took note of the fleeing cat but it was out the cat flap and down the garden before he could blink. Bizzy hopped up on the spare chair in the office to be as close as he could and to 'help' with whatever I was doing.

After his roast chicken dinner, lying on a blanket on the floor he was demanding of chin scratches and belly rubs, pawing me if I stopped. For anyone adopting Bizzy, you would have to factor in plenty of time to fuss him while he settles and figures out that you and he are in it for keeps and it really is his forever home, at which point I think he will be less demanding and you might get some work done! 0002.gif] He is definitely a cuddle on the sofa and sleep in your bed kinda guy.
I decided to give him a bath and he was very obliging although I can't say he actually enjoyed it. He did enjoy the getting rubbed dry bit though.
