Mollie's Story: Sadly, Mollie & Clown's owner was ill, and then passed away. Initially, they were in Social Services kennels from March 2018. Rescue Remedies offered Rescue places, saving their lives. Both were neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Unfortunately, Mollie's partner, Clown died in early November. Mollie was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Mollie's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
16.10.18: Mollie & Clown...These are via Social Services and have been in since March 18 as owner was ill. He has passed away and there are no next of kin to take them, therefore the Social Services will let me have a week to home them. They re called Mollie and Clown.
Mollie is the rough coat Jack Russell, tan and white, female and 4 years old. She is spayed but need a teeth clean, I can get this done. Clown is male and I would age at about 10 years old, he is very vacant and I think has not taken to kennel life so well. He needs castration and again I can get this done. Both dogs are very sweet, Mollie is a real cutie. Clown is more reserved but his stump (docked) wants to be excited. Both seem Ok with other dogs, but I think Clowns eyesight is not great as he can jump when approached so maybe not kids. Do you think you could maybe help these two? I will try and send some photo tomorrow.
Thanks so much

What a sweet pair, Mollie is very confident, while Clown is reserved. Both were easy to take out of the kennel, no reaction to the other dogs. They walk very well together, Molly is a typical terrier, very interested in the trees on squirrel watch 0002.gif] . Clown walks well having a sniff in the undergrowth, they are both happy to take treats. It would be wonderful to see them in their forever home :smiley-bounce016.gi:

I met these two for the first time yesterday. What a lovely pair! Little Mollie is so sweet and friendly and just loved her walk, darting around on the lead for sniffs in the grass. Clown didn't feel himself I think and it saddened me to see him like this [cry.gif] . He wasn't too interested in the walk and refused all treats. This pair really do need a home.

Sadly today when opening up the kennels one of the kennel staff alerted the others she thought Clown had died. They stroked him and he woke up and got up went into his run and then stumbled, fell over and died as they attended him. Mollie was allowed to spend time with his body for a short while to help her appreciate his passing. Mollie has now moved kennel and receiving a lot of fuss from us all.

I took Mollie for a little walk this morning after losing her partner, Clown. She was her usual busy, friendly entertaining little self.

I was lucky enough to meet Mollie's new family today. She enjoyed being with the children and was happy to run around the paddock with them although she wouldn't play ball!
She has gone home to hopefully settle with 2 cats - her new family are up for controlled socialisation so :crossfingers.gif:

SarahMay, Nicholas with their children Jake, Lucy and Katy met little Mollie today and were delighted to take her home to see if they could settle her with their 2 cats...she did meet 2 cats in the cattery and was very fascinated, but then she was with Cecile the french bulldog who came into reception and she wanted to go close and smell but nothing more. Paws crossed
