Joey Saluki x Lurcher DofB TBAss Gatwick Kenns

Post by anne »

Joey is a gentle boy who is a little nervous and bewildered at the moment, having just arrived. I sat with him in his kennel for a while as we got to know each other. He was scared by the other dogs barking and was a little skittish and unsure as we went out so we headed off into the woods where he was able to relax a little and take his time to sniff around and get his bearings. Hopefully with the love and patience he will receive in our rescue he can settle and relax while he waits for his forever home.

I took Joey out today with Dizzie and Leeanne, he is a very sweet boy, and in time will hopefully settle and relax. He was happier to walk in front and did settle. He was alert for birds and squirrels, when he saw one his ears went up, but he did not pull to chase them. Joey would need a calm home, with lots of love and patience, as he is a gentle soul. Hopefully his forever home will come soon :crossfingers.gif:

Sad news:

Joey is very weak with blood clots starting to form all over body. Protein levels don't seem to be raising which help the clotting process. All organs are slowly shutting down. He had had scans but to find the exact cause he wld have to have a CT scan under anaesthetic and his heart is now not strong enough to do that. Likely to be a rare cancer and also effecting lymph.
We have decided to bring him home for some TLC before we say our final goodbye. Jenny
