Chase's Story: Chase was taken in by the dog warden after a family had home him for 4 days and in his excitement he had humped them and guarded precious times they had bought for him. To what degree we are unsure. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Chase will be neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Chase is in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If interested in rehoming one of our dogs, the first step is to complete and submit our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. We do not discuss dogs without a homing questionnaire submission. You must be ready and sadly due to unprecedented interest, we will only be able to contact you if we have a suitable dog. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £200. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Chase's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: 11.2.21: Handed into dog warden guarding and humping in the house. They had only had him 2 days..no idea where they got him from, he is chipped and has had first vaccinations and will have 2nd by the time he comes to you. Maryx

Beautiful colourings and friendly boy - we went for a little walk around the grounds after he had his photo shoot with Anne :D

Nice gentle walk - yes he did have a little hump when I returned with him to his kennel but a few treats in the floor and he stopped, pure anxiety bless him.

Onwards and upwards little guy x

I took Chase out for the first time today, what a handsome boy, Chase greeted me in his kennel, very easy to get his leads on. Once away from the kennels, he settled down to have a lovely walk. Someone has spent time training Chase, he responds well to commands, especially heel. Chase enjoyed his time in the woods, lots of sniffing and some digging, Chase did hump my leg on return to his kennel, it was due to stress he was easily distracted by treats. Met Chase for the first time on Tuesday what a handsome little fellow. Really well behaved and sits beautifully for a treat and gives you his paw as if to say thank you. He does pull initially but I think this is pure enthusiasm to be going on a walk and soon calms down. No reaction to dogs or people he passes. He did try to hump a couple of times but a treat soon stops this. Looking, forward to meeting him again. Hope he finds his forever home soon.

Chase enjoyed a stroll out with Rachel today and showed himself to be an absolutely fantastic partner in crime along with Bruno. He’s very action packed, jogging from bush to bush, but very good natured with it. We had fun trying to navigate a stile - Chase was more interested in going under the bridge than over it!

Once into the fields, he had an absolute blast running about with Rachel and hopefully he’ll have a good nights sleep after all his activity. Chase also became a big fan of the leftover roast chicken we brought with us and showed off a dainty sit and paw for his treats.

What a lovely dog and really enjoyable to spend time with. No humping either today - I don’t know whether to feel offended!

Chase was today’s lucky winner in the mystery walk draw. With the weather so good and the sun cracking the trees, it was a chance to explore some of the riverbanks and woods between the centre and Horley that you’ve always wondered where trails went to. The benefit of this is that a one hour walk very quickly becomes two.

Chase was a brilliant walking partner, not too pulley, but always focused on going forward and before long the step counter on my Fitbit was buzzing for the daily target. He enjoyed his couple of paddles at different points of the river but wasn’t the biggest water baby like some of the other dogs. He is partial to a pat and likes a treat and a scratch but isn’t a lapdog.

On the way back, maybe as he was a bit tired, he did have a grumble at a couple of dogs but did quickly forget about them when they were past. Just a great way to spend a couple of hours - thanks Chase!
