Boris is our PatterdaleTerrierrescue's Terrier of the month for OCTOBER 20
Boris' Story:Boris' owner circumstances didn't lend themselves to a Patterjack pup, as much as they loved him. They tried to home him twice but he bounced back as he needed a terrier savvy family with an active lifestyle and time for him. "He’s a lovable dog, friendly and very excitable but gets bored easily". Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Boris is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Boris was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Boris' progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: We were asked to take Boris as an emergency as at 1 year old needs a high exercise regime and minimal leaving time as he has been left long hours and been creative unless crated for long hours! Must go due to Landlord selling the house.

Boris came into our Rescue on the 26th August 2020

I had the pleasure of walking Boris today.
He is a very friendly little chap and welcomed me in to his kennel. He didn't mind having his harness put on and was keen to get out of the kennel block. We had a lovely walk. He was quite keen and was at the end of the lead most of the time but being so small it wasn't a problem.
Boris is young and lively and will need a home who know how to care for this type of dog but will make a wonderful addition to the right family.
Lets hope he doesn't need to spend his birthday in kennels

What a cute little chap.

Used Boris for a taster walk for new recruits and he was great. He clearly loved the attention and also being out on his walk including a dip in the stream. He wasn't bothered by a loose dog which passed quite close to us. True to his breed he has bags of energy and you feel he would be happy to walk all day and still not tire.

The boy Boris was allocated to me today and what a treat !

This little lad is so friendly and sweet, easy to harness and walk and very kissy and showed no reaction to passing dogs , cars , lorries or motorbikes

In Fact I discovered Boris is a bit of a petrol head !!! He loved watching the cars on the M23, wagging his tail in delight as they passed underneath him from his viewpoint on the flyover.

Boris as stated needs lots of walks and plenty to keep him busy..... he's going to make someone very happy and fit in his home, let's hope it's not long

Boris was delighted to see me and go out on Saturday, he was the perfect gentleman and I really can't fault him, we went around the village, took in the sights of the ever exciting M23 and he met several admirers who fell for his charms !

Really surprised to get to walk Boris again this week as he's an absolute treat of a terrier and I fully expected him to be snapped up by our next walk. After a very slow start full of terrier sniffing, Boris went full steam ahead in the way only PatterJacks can, particularly after getting some encouragement from a chicken treat. A real delight of a walk with the little man and I'm sure he won't be in much longer, with such a great manner.

I took Boris out for a long walk this Wednesday. He was being very vocal in his pen and didn't want to be forgotten. He is a great little chap - very easy to walk, very friendly and what a great looking little dog he is. Hopefully he won't be with us for too long as he needs his own home and sofa - he is a very young dog.
