Poppy's Story: Poppy came into her family as a Rescue Terrier. She now needs a terrier family who can manage her hype with visitors, and give her space. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Poppy is neutered, chipped, and under going vaccinates. Poppy is in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting hes new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Poppy came out for a walk this morning with me, she is settling in to her new surroundings so was very nervous when I came into her domain but once out we had a good, slow walk. She likes to ponder life and go at a slow pace but squirrels caught her attention and she broke into a trot. It is very hot today so she had a few stops for a quick slurp out of my water bowl. As she gets to know her surroundings I think she will want to walk further but for now she wants to stay close to base.

Poppy is gorgeous. She let Tigga (patterdale) follow her on our walk with no reaction what so ever. I hardly knew she was at the end of the lead - she walks really well. I took her to the paddock - she had a good sniff around, decided she liked it, decided I was ok too, and happily accepted a fuss. Xx

What a gorgeous little girl - slightly tubby but all the cuter for that. Poppy is settling into her new surroundings and, naturally, is finding it all a bit confusing. Today we walked with Tricia and Tigga and had a great walk despite the heat. We meandered through the woods taking shady paths and keeping out of the sun. She followed Tigga very happily and kept up a good pace. So hope she finds her retirement home very quickly - she deserves that. :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif:

poppy had a nice walk with tigga yesterday it was a very calm and friendly walk with two v easy going dogs - she seems a low maintenance dog who wouldnt want TOO much walking - she seems an ideal dog for a jrt (or small dog) loving home

Poppy is such a sweetheart, we had a great walk accompanied by Buddie, as it was cool we walked over the common where both dogs stopped for a sniff and a roll in the grass. Poppy walks really well, it was hard to believe that there was a dog at the end of the lead!!, I really hope her retirement home comes soon, she really deserves a loving home Heart fill with love.gif]

I met Poppy for the first time on Sunday and what a sweetheart she is.
As advised, I approached her slowly in her kennel and gave her time but she was so friendly and gentle and seemed eager to get going.
Despite being a little overweight she had plenty of energy, running through the long grass occasionally and she also had a little run in the paddock.
She's such a friendly girl with people and seemed happy to see other dogs out and about, and didn't hear a peep out of her the whole time. Although I never used to be a small dog person, this has changed over the past few months. I'm increasingly enjoying walking the JRT's and Poppy has already stolen my heart.

I met the very sweet Poppy on Monday and I completely share Kathryn's update on her (although I have always been a JR fan). She is a great little lady, who still has a bit of weight to lose, but that doesn't stop her setting a good pace for a very easy and enjoyable walk. We did a long river walk with Stuart and Honey and she doesn't seem worried about other dogs, she didn't bark one, pull on the lead and although she noticed the squirrels, she was happy to stand and watch them. She was very welcoming when I went into her kennel and just wanted to get going. I think she will bring a lot of love and smiles to her forever home.

I so agree with everyone about this gorgeous little chubby lady! She is just such a dear little character. She was one of 9 dogs I walked today and unfortunately I left her nearly to last as by the time it was her turn to venture out she had been crying for quite a while. She gave me a lovely greeting and we set off on quite a long walk. The weather was perfect and so I knew she would not get too hot. She walks along at quite a pace - gorgeous - let's hope her forever home comes soon. :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif:
