Riley's Story: Riley has had one family and sadly lost his home because the family are moving in with their elderly relative who needs them and Riley couldn't go too. Riley also can get stressed with some loud noises or the postman and this can trigger barking incidents. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Riley is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Riley was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Riley's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information: Family called to ask if we could help Riley as they needed to rehome him.

Riley arrived today he is a little poppet. He is coping in kennels at the moment well and enjoys playing with a ball. We were able to handle him easily despite being 'strangers'. Here is the beautiful boy

well if there is a rival to red and cola as our fav dog/s at the kennels its riley - what an absolute cutie he is comes out good as gold then first thing he likes is a sit down and cuddles and jumps straight on your lap many strokes later he is ready to set off -
he walks so nicely and he was more than happy to go on a long walk he is more of an occasional sniffer than a serial one and seems unbothered at all by other dogs once back a few more treats and he likes to cuddle up close he really would make a super family dog - get those forms in-

Riley was my first walk of the day, what a sweetheart, he does love a cuddle before putting his leads on. He is very easy to take out of the kennels, he ignores all the other dogs. We had a lovely walk through the woods, Riley does not pull on the lead, he stops for occasional sniff. We stopped to have treats and a cuddle. When he sees another dog, he just ignores them. Riley is a very sweet natured boy, he would make a wonderful companion to the right home.

It is sad to see Riley is back in kennels again. I met him for the first time today what a lovely little dog. He is very easy to manage and doesn’t seem to mind other dogs. He is a typical Jack Russell with plenty of energy but at the same time seems to be very sensible. When we got back to his kennel he waited patiently and politely for his treats.

I echo Judy's words, very sad to see Riley in the kennels.
I've walked Riley several times these last few weeks. Riley is very easy on the lead, pottering along. We have visited the paddock once and Riley promptly jumped on my lap for a cuddle. Riley appears to ignore other dogs and is just content to mooch along.
