Re: Roco Patterdale DofB 2015 Teddington Foster
Back to the river run. Avoiding the parks because it’s that time of year when the females become so hormonal they turn into dog killers. We went up to Kingston Bridge and back down to Teddington Lock and home. It’s about 5k. With lots of stops on the way! The slatted bridge that Roco had problems crossing last year is not a problem any more. Far to busy looking at everything on the water. And still fascinated by most things on the river. Roco is getting fairly good at walking and running to ‘heel’. It’s hard but he does his best!

More river watching from Kingston Bridge.

Roco had a 2 hour walk along the River this morning with Jarvis. He’s recharging his batteries!
Re: Roco Patterdale DofB 2015 Teddington Foster
Roco does so well socialising with other dogs when he walks with a sensible older dog that can show him what to do when meeting other dogs. He’s just walked round the recreation ground with a very docile old black lab (that looks like a much larger version of Roco. Roco is often mistaken for a lab puppy) He had a good sniff with dogs that he would never have been able to cope with on his own. So what I’m saying is that Roco would really benefit from being around another dog he trusts. If that’s at all possible. I get the feeling he never had the benefit of his mother’s discipline.

Great picture Sue - I think you and Roco should get a store going on Etsy, there’s definitely a market for this type of cuteness!

We had a very sunny walk by the Thames today. Roco coped well with passing countless dogs. He is challenged by nose to nose meetings but is doing well. He got scared of one ‘full’ dog and had a growl at him. We had a paddle in the water and I had to take off my shoes and socks to show him a rock protruding from the water was nothing to be scared of. He barked at a puppy having fun in the water but I’m not sure if he was trying to warn the puppy about the ‘dangerous rocks’ or why he barked at the puppy. Roco responds well now to ‘NO’ and can easily be brought to ‘sit’ to calm him down.
He coped well with my daughter’s garden party on Saturday night and he enjoyed his trip to the pub. He’s very well behaved at the pub. He seemed very comfortable to watch everyone. I bought Roco a colour coded lead - he has yellow and ‘nervous’ written on the lead just to give people the heads up that he needs space. About 90% of people take notice.

It’s a hard life! Yay. Roco has decided he will use the cool mat. He did have his head behind the cushion. But I think this is more comfortable!
