Sadly our foster of Cola and Red comes to an end next Friday due to our commitments. Having them in foster since March has been wonderful. Being able to take them out walking during full lockdown really helped us. They make us laugh every day and they are loving and affectionate.
For 98% of the time they are very easy dogs. They are house trained. They travel well in the car. They can be left for a couple of hours and are not destructive in the house (and give you a great welcome home even if you have been out for 5 minutes!). They adapt to your schedule and can walk for miles or are happy with two short walks per day. They love food most. And destroying balls or chasing them is their second favourite thing.
The 2% of the time is when the typical Patterdale kicks in such as chasing a fox out of the garden. With other dogs Red wants to be left alone and will ignore them if he can. Cola wants to pull towards the smaller ones and leave the big ones alone! We have muzzle trained them and use the muzzles when we are in some London parks (and there many dogs off lead and out of control). They are fine with it.
Both dogs love to be stroked and sit with you. Red has a magnificent tail wag when you are speaking to him and Cola smiles (and begs for food) with her eyes. Cola still sits on my shoulder on the bed. In the heat Red has taken to the floor which must be cooler but still rolls on his back for an opportunistic belly rub.

great to catch up with topdogs red & cola who have shown what brilliant dogs they are in their long foster break and how they would thrive in their own home - we took them out sunday and tuesday and we got a superb welcome from them as always and of course they were really excited to be going out walking - they enjoyed spashing around in the stream both days cola especially who loves the water - these two pattie siblings are really well behaved and would make brilliant family dogs

we took cola & red out on sunday with little marvin tagging along walked by david not sure they realised he was there for quite a while then red was just a bit inquisitive but fine with marv trailing in the rear - they are both quite busy dogs and love nothing more than to find a scent trail and track it as far as they can - then arriving at the stream we went down the bank where as usual cola is the more enthusiastic about going in for a splash around red just dips his toes in and has a few sips of streamwater while marvin also seems a water lover - then time for a treat break which is always welcome for this pair back to the kennels for a couple of jumbones these two are always a delight to take out and so v well behaved

another great walk with this delightful pattie duo - you always receive a great welcome in their kennel so excited when they know they are going out and once we are off they soon calm down to enjoy their walk -they are a busy pair loving to share all smells and trails such happy dogs especially when they realise they are going down to the stream where cola had a great splash around and red did a bit of paddling - always hard putting these two back they have proved how well they behave in their long term foster home recently and lets hope someone spots these two soon and gives them the retirement home they so richly deserve they will not disappoint

I walked Cola, Emma walked Red, this is the first time I have walked them. They are both stunning looking patterdales, very easy to walk, they are so in time with one another. Both have proved themselves in foster, it would be lovely to see them in their forever home Heart fill with love.gif]
