I just love my walks with Banjo, it is such a joy that he doesn't have any reservations about going away from the kennels as was the case when I first started walking him. He would go just a short distance and then would dig his paws in and refuse to go any further. He really does enjoy his time out and about exploring new smells and spotting squirrels dashing up the trees. Such a gorgeous loveable boy. bighug.gif

I had the pleasure of Banjo's company again this afternoon. He really is such a joy to take out. He was a bit more impressed with the fact the ground has started to dry out and so he didn't have to negotiate the mud. He had a few exciting moments when he thought he could catch up with the squirrels climbing trees but as soon as he realises they have long gone he is happy to carry on with his walk. Such a lovely boy who deserves to be in his forever home very soon. :crossfingers.gif:

Banjo is such a well mannered dog, when I open his door to get him out he will wait patiently until the leads are attached and only then does he make a move to go. We kept to the cooler paths as it was a hot afternoon which suited Banjo fine as he enjoys watching out for squirrels chasing up the trees which I think sometimes he believes he can climb up after them. When we got back he had pleasure in showing me his tuggy toy which he wanted to have a game with but then got easily distracted with the sausage treats. This little boy is such a character. :smiley-bounce016.gi:

Enjoyed a lovely walk with Banjo yesterday, he really is rather lovely.
I have not walked Banjo for a while, he is a very popular boy love4.gif
This boy relishes every second of his walk, sniffing everything of interest and stoppping for treats along the way. Banjo is super gentle on the lead, no pulling at all which I was very grateful for being my last walk of the day.
Banjo is a very, very handsome boy, he has the most expressive face, which he used to his full advantage to gain treats!! Cheeky boy thumbs.gif
As I said I've not walked Banjo for some time and I was surprised by his reaction, or lack of to other dogs. We passed a Labrador having fun in the stream, not a peep from Banjo, I thought he'd lost his voice! His regular walkers are obviously giving him masses of confidence.
Had the best time with lovely Banjo love4.gif love4.gif

Banjo and I had a lovely walk this afternoon, as it was very hot we stuck to the shady paths. It is just so wonderful to see that Banjo has grown so much in confidence over a period of time which is reflected in his behaviour. I really do hope that he finds his forever home very soon, he really does deserve it. Kiss of love.gif

Despite the heat this afternoon Banjo was his usual cheerful self however we did take a shorter route than we normally would do. When we got back to his room he immediately picked up his rope toy to have a game of tuggy. I would have loved to have taken him into the paddock to play but it really was far too hot. I did feel guilty as that is clearly what he wanted but as soon as the sausage treats appeared he forgot about playing which made me feel not quite so bad. :smiley-dance017.gif: :smiley-dance017.gif: :smiley-dance017.gif:

Andrew and I love walking Banjo every Saturday, he is such a kind, funny dog who has so much love to give. He's come on so much since he arrived, I think his regular walkers are really helping him feel more confident - he's so happy to go out on walks and he's now often calmer meeting other dogs as well. He sits happily to wait for treats and loves a cuddle and scratch. He's a beautiful dog and I really hope he'll find his forever home soon! :smiley-chores002.gif:

I missed walking Banjo on Tuesday and felt very guilty that I hadn’t taken him out and so I hope I made up for it this afternoon. Banjo has grown into a confident happy boy which is delightful to see. I am just so surprised he hasn’t been snapped up by now as he will make such a wonderful companion with plenty of affection and personality. wheyhey.gif

It was my first time walking Banjo today. I was told he was 'shouty' and yes he is! Banjo and I set off, everything was fine until he saw another dog! Banjo isn't keen on other dogs and he took me a bit by surprise when he started to spin and bark when he saw other dogs! I got dizzy, HOWEVER.......when Banjo is on his own and doesn't see other dogs he is an absolute joy to walk! Banjo and I started off on or walk and whilst all the walkers were happy to stand to one side and let us pass, I decided it was just too much stress for him and we would double back and go the other way! When Banjo is on his own, he is absolutely fine, a perfect walking partner but he stresses around other dogs. We walked down the lane, onto the road and he didn't bat an eyelid at traffic or cyclists. I think Banjo needs more socialisation around other dogs and this will take time, he needs to unpack his nervousness, after all he has spent most of his life in kennels and its stressful. Quiet time with Banjo is a joy, in the Poets hut he took his treats ever so gently, Banjo is a great little dog, but he needs time to find himself and his confidence and a home where he can settle.

I agree with the previous comment, Banjo in time and given the right environment will blossom and show his true self. He is such a delight to be with but just needs patience and time for him to become accustomed to different situations. I do hope someone will give him that opportunity as I am sure they won’t be disappointed. :smiley-bounce016.gi:
