Ozzy's Story:
Current Status: Homed
Ozzy was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a Northern council pound. He had had a fight with another dog. We don't know the circumstances behind this - whether it was a new introduction, an incident outside, or with a long-term living companion. It could have been a younger dog introduced which was aggravating Ozzy. His instincts are good with dogs. Roddy had 10 teeth out during a dental, so he may have been in pain during the incident. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Ozzy is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Ozzy was in boarding kennels in Guildford whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

I met and walked Ozzy for the first time yesterday. A lovely quiet gentleman. Very easy to get out and very easy to walk. We pottered round and about the bridle path and woods. Had a sit in the Poet's Hut - he explored and snuffled about quite contentedly. Passed a few dogs and no reaction from Ozzy. I think he would suit an older lady or man who wants some company as he seems a very undemanding dog. angel13.gif]

(Since returned)

Mary who sadly lost Doodles to old age (Doodles and Sasha for those who remember them) enquired if we had an small oldie who needed love. Ozzy was that boy and they are very very happy together love4.gif

Ozzy has come back onto our books. He can get concerned when he sees other dogs outside, which was not evident in the brief period he was in kennels. It may be that walking with a mobility scooter renders him feeling vulnerable. We are now looking for terrier experienced persons who understand how to support a terrier outside.

Ozzy is a really affectionate little man in the house and settles beside Mary on her settee. He follows her around obviously keen to take an interest in what she is doing. Mary's mobility is a major problem as she can only get out on her mobility scooter and Roddy can be reactive towards other dogs following his altercation with another dog before he came into rescue. Currently, Mary has to employ the service of a dog walker to ensure that the active little man gets some exercise and she has contacted the Cinnamon Trust to help out as well. Ozzy appears to be protective of his home and of Mary herself....not aggressively but he does bark when anyone calls at the house.

Mary is extremely sad that she has to part with Ozzy, but she is keen for this to happen soon as possible.

Dear little dog! I met and walked Roddy for the first time today. He was immediately friendly and let me take off his coat and get him ready for his walk without any problems. He was ready for quite a long walk and so we went out into the relative warmth of the day and enjoyed the sights and smells of the woodland. We came across a few people walking their dogs but Ozzy was easily distracted. He kept up a fairly brisk pace and once back in his pen devoured his sausage treats. Hopefully this great little terrier will find a suitable home soon. :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif:

I walked Ozzy for the first time today, a sweet little dog, I got a lovely greeting from him. We had a great walk, he walks really well, and is interested in his surroundings. We stopped for a few treats, then off again exploring all the new smells. I hope the right home comes soon for Ozzy Heart fill with love.gif]

Ozzy is an older gent with impeccable manners and a lovely bark! He was very ready to leave his pen this morning and to go for a walk in the sunshine. He enjoys having a sniff and a snuffle but keeps up a good pace nonetheless. He certainly enjoys his treats. This is a lovely little dog - one who would fit into a household very easily. Fingers crossed Ozzy. :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif:
