Homing Requirements: Tex needs a training focused family and to be in experienced hands as he is naturally emotional. Rescue Remedies do not advocate our dogs are off lead, as they need support to ensure all off lead encounters are supported by their handlers. Tex can be left for short periods. Tex could live with another settled dog. Not bad with cats! Awareness around visiting and running children as he doesn't understand children, though has good intentions.

His Story: Tex came into the pound as a 3 month old puppy, was homed for a short period with a devoted owner who had him off lead and adored him but was leaving for long periods crated returned him. Tex doesn't cope in kennels so has had a premium foster place with a trainer and he has come on leaps and bounds. Tex is neutered, chipped and vax'd. Currently in foster in Milton Keynes, Bucks.

Advert: Tex just send him a Text saying ... “Be Mine!” Tex is young and with guiding ethos he has shone through. In foster Tex has shone by walking to heel, being left overnight downstairs and during the day free range with no destruction. Tex needs a garden/ He delights in dog companionship on his walks although he can get confused with hyped up dogs which in truth he wants to play with. Tex is a Super Star!

Tex is a "Whippetty" 2 year old Staffie of slight stature, tenderness in his eyes and affectionate. Tex loves to be stroked and cuddled especially on the sofa. Tex is emotional and has missed out on so much in his early life but now trained, socialised and is a dear, dear soul. He can become a little leapy and spin in kennels but we do everything we can to keep him out. Tex thrives on praise and is succeeds in all areas of his life. Tex is delighting in the fun of learning and pleasing.

Referral Info: Hi Lynne, I'm emailing to ask a favour- I understand if you cannot help as I know you're chokka with dogs from all angles but worth an ask. Do you have any room for Tex, the pup? (Below)

The little chap was surrendered by his owner who was a young lad who loved him to pieces- he let me neuter and chip him, but he called me so upset because the landlord then said he had to remove the dog :-( So i took him in and promised the lad I'd look after him and find him a decent rescue space. He is just a baby. He is bouncy and does tend to mouth which needs work but he is so sweet and very special because of the circumstances.

Like I say, I understand if not Lynne as you're very busy but wanted to try because I trust you and your rescue.

Kind Regards Tara xxx Dog Warden

Agreed to help but no kennel available so went on our waiting list

We took Tex in on the 26th January, he was vet checked and received his 2nd vax. Lovely bouncy boy who needs to be out walking and getting to grips with what life has to offer him. He is tail spinning in his frustration to understand expectations and dealing with his own build up of excess energy. Very me me me in the kennels..bless him lots of walks and attention coming your way Tex.

Tex came out for a muddy walk yesterday. He is leapy and mouthy initially in his kennel and when he loses the plot on his walk he can revert to trying to gain contact/ attention from his walker but a firm 'ach! Ach!' sees him reviewing his behaviour and refocusing on the walk. I got the impression his mind is currently all over the place with a very short concentration span due to not channelling his attention into purposeful activities. He needs to be taught to use his walks to explore and engage his attention. Looking to achieve this but fleetingly then moves to the next thing and the next. Meets people well and can be encouraged to keep all 4 paws on the ground by people engaging with him on his level. Tex needs a patient home who have time to socialise him further and employ his energy into skill acquisition. Picked up the habit of turning energy into a 'tail spin' when his energy goes up and he doesn't know where to place it, employed on a walk this is easily diverted and directed. Well meaning puppy who will learn fast.

Isn't it a shame that these young kids are forced to give up their dogs when access to dog training classes for them and the puppy would be so much better. Encourage them instead of breaking their heart?

Hi everyone, I’ll introduce myself quickly. I’m the rescue’s new fosterer and I took Tex home with me today...
Tex is absolutely wonderful!!! He’s sweet and cuddly, he’s funny and playful, smart and eager to learn, very obedient and very affectionate. Even though he’s clearly FULL of energy he is still somehow able to restrain it and calm down when necessary. He’s clean in the house. He’s perfect in the car. He’s everyone’s dream dog ... he clearly belongs on the sofa with his own human by his side rather than in a cold empty kennel, but I have two dogs of my own and other dogs visiting on regular basis and it’s really stressful for them.
But what I wanted to say is that Tex really deserves another chance in life and he desperately needs to get out of the kennels (the spinning, chasing and biting the tail is seriously troubling already) so to all fosterers who don’t have dogs – Tex is no problems, pure pleasure. Perfect foster and forever dog!
And now I’ll try to attach few photos of him I had taken this evening, before he fell asleep exhausted on my lap with his head under my arm 

WOW what a guy. Tex has joyful puppy energy but still walks nicely on the lead and does not really react to anything. He was a little unsure about having the harness on but once outside the kennel he was completely relaxed and able to enjoy his walk, calmly taking in everything. No reaction to a confident cat strutting by or to the horses we passed. He loved cuddles back in the kennel and happily snuggled into his bed with his chew when I left him.

Tex looked sad and forlorn in his kennel this morning but soon perked up when I entered to take him for a walk. His puppy excitement and enthusiasm are still evident but he is getting the hang of controlling them. Much calmer while having his harness on today and he walked really nicely on the lead, initially focussed on the other dogs walking but soon refocussed on walking and sniffing out interesting smells along the way.
Tex is looking for guidance and is very keen to learn and be praised for being a good boy. He loves getting fuss and treats.
Tex will grow and mature into the loviest affectionate dog with the right guidance. He has a really sweet nature.
