Rosco's Story: Rosco was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a North London council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place. Rosco is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Rosco had his tail docked as it broke down in kennels. Rosco is in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Rosco had quite a day of it today. Having arrived late last night, he went into his new kennel with a meal awaiting him, heat lamp on, light off. Next morning Rosco was the first new dog to show Jemma and Paige the Staff members and to our surprize there he was wagging his tail with Billy & Gibbsy 2 JRTs in their kennel. I thought how did I put him in the wrong kennel...then we looked at his kennel and most of his meal was gone so somehow he determinately jumped an 8' wall for company.

Back in his kennel he watched excitedly a new kennel regime and was soon out on his first walk with Rosc, 12 noon and he was sharing a walk with Libby and loving the meet and greet of people and shoulder to shoulder with Libby. 2.30 pm he was out again meeting another family and this time walking alongside Lotty Staffie.

He was more bouncy on his walk when alone and was leaping to grab the lead on occasion: Even though we were firm and telling him we were not encouraging this behaviour he never got nippy, a little chatty at times, as though he was explaining this is his fun!

Rosco seems to be a Staffie x Boxer. He is currently under weight. Early days he will soon settle after his first day of meeting lots of people, sadly in freezing rain. Happier days ahead. This lad loves other dogs and would love to live with another.

Rosco Staffie x Boxer DofB 01.17 Gatwick Kenns

Dear soul Rosco is just like a glass of Champagne lots of fizz and jollity, behaves like an 11 month pup but is a 21 month pup! He is a kind and very sensitive soul under his fizz. Today he travelled in a crate to our vets which initially he wasn't happy about but did settle after the first 10 mins. He was neutered, and his tail was removed as it was breaking down in kennels (happy tail... bashing against the kennel wall whenever he saw someone).

Tonight he travelled on the front seat as my passenger and sat beautifully and watched the lights of the traffic as we sped to the kennels. Love this boy.

I have walked Rosco a couple of times over the festive period.
He is such a poppet, I make kissy faces at him every time I walk past his kennel as he’s always watching and smiling.
Yes when we walk he has a lot of energy, but doesn’t regularly grab leads and will calm down if spoken to with kind calm words but boy if you meet someone he’s straight up to them to say hi with a hug 🤗
Passed Lynne and Luisa with Glynis today and he wasn’t bothered, I’d be very surprised if there was any bad in this dog.
Such a charmer, needs a good patient home who will get stuck into his training, he’s so willing to please and the very best ‘good boy’ I hope he finds a home v. Soon.

Geoff walked Rosco today. He is very bouncy when trying to put his lead on, over excited for sure, but a chicken chew distracted him beautifully and made exiting the kennels easy. Outside Rosco was very bouncy to begin with, which was exacerbated by our attempts to introduce him to Ezra. He was anxious about Ezra following him, but once there was a reasonable distance between them he walked beautifully. He happily took the treats offered and really enjoyed his cuddles. Geoff said they had a lovely easy walk. Xxx angel13.gif]

Walked him Sunday 14.01.18 He is very excited to get out on a walk but who wouldn't be. He was a true gentleman and loves a fuss. Not greedy or distracted.

Very nice little man.

Geoff walked Rosco today. He says he is very people friendly and did not react to any of the dogs around the kennels or on the walk. He is easily distracted with a treat if he is getting a bit overexcited about having his lead on. He is a strong boy and pulls a bit on the lead, but a pleasure to walk, and such a loving boy.
