Gilly & Snowy's Story: Gilly and Snowy were found stray/abandoned and unclaimed in a Midlands council pound, though their owner knew where they were. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving their lives. Gilly, father, and Snowy, daughter, are now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Both are currently in boarding kennels near Gatwick awaiting their new family.

03.08.19: Well Gilly celebrated his 12th Birthday yesterday. We have been preparing for this in the sense we have decided to home him separately from his daughter Snowy and go all out to find each of them separate homes.

They are such a dynamic pair. Gilly in particular is like a 1 year old in energy and enthusiasm. Such a long time in kennels waiting waiting with frustrated energy as a result. He needs an active couple who can manage his pull as a 'go go go' kinda dog. No young children. So now at the age of 12 Gilly would love to reacquaint with soft furnishings, love and care...Please!

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Gilly's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
18.05.18: Hi Lynne, We have been asked to find a rescue for a bonded pair of white staffies. Male and female. As far as I know they are both fine with people. 20.05.18...Thank you. The female is chipped and is 6 years old and has a cyst on her head that doesn't seem to bother her. The male is not chipped, is neutered. The female is protective of the male. Di MKStrays

Snowy and Gilly arrived today, Di & Carol transported them into our care

Snowy is smaller just 8 years old 17.06.10 She has a lot of fun inside her bursting to come out and loves people desperately. Green harness

Gilly is 11 years old 02.08.07 in very good health. He has the yellow eyes and blue nose which shows he has blue Staffies in his genetics. He equally is full of fun and affectionate.

we took the beautiful bonded pair gilly and snowy out on tuesday - they are both really in sync with each other and were so happy to be out and about it - they had so much energy in the paddock it would be hard to believe their ages.

Geoff and I walked this absolutely lovely pair on Wednesday. They are so easy to harness and very easy to walk. They are friendly happy little dogs with lots of adorable staffie traits like rolling on their backs and laughing, and lying flat out in the grass like splatted frogs enjoying the feel of grass on their bellies. Oh and they love their cuddles!!

The sun was out today and so were Snowy and Gilly. Both were keen to get on their way this morning! As it was so hot, and they obviously had energy to burn off, it was straight to the paddock for a run around. Both Snowy and Gilly enjoy their paddock time. Snowy tends to have a wander and a sniff and will follow you around for treats, whilst Gilly (who is older) has a bit more energy and will chase after the ball. He can sure run fast, will bring the ball back and if he gets bored with that, will play with the 'ball chucker'. Both had a lovely time and it was a shame to take them back to their kennel, but I know they had fun, fun, fun. Such happy dogs that walk and play well together. x

Snowy and Gillie were both on good form today! Gilly was rather strong on the lead and was keen to get going. Snowy follows at a more gentle pace! Off to the paddock it was to let off some steam. Snowy and Gilly really enjoy their time in the paddock, so they spent half an hour or so playing with the ball, jumping up and down the agility steps and generally having a good old sniff around. Lots of drinks as it was a very hot morning. Once play time was over, we took them on the Woodland Walk and then down the lane. Gilly was a lot calmer once he had burnt off all that excess energy. Once back in their kennel, I usually hand out a few sausages, Snowy was more than happy to take them. Gilly pottered off and went for a lie down! I think they both had a good walk x

Snowy and Gilly enjoyed some paddock time today. Both were keen to get out and about even though it was raining! Gilly was his usual flamboyant self and led me to the paddock in double quick fashion. He can pull a little but I think he is just keen to get on his way, Snowy on the other hand, although keen to get to where she needs to be is more gentle on your arm muscles! Once in the paddock both Snowy and Gilly had a good sniff and run around to burn off their excess energy before we had a calmer walk down the lane. Both were happy to sit for treats and were happy to walk calmly before we took them back to their kennel. A bonded duo with double the love to share.
