PLEASE NOTE: Dog laws have changed with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to maintain dogs on lead in public spaces and manage encounters for at least 4 months until sure of their dogs instincts & skills, most of our dogs will need to be retained always on a lead, so as not to place dog's lives at risk, (Destruction or Control Orders are common place nowadays).
***PLEASE HELP OUR LONG STAY DOGS: Our min. adoption donation £175, which supports our work and Is non returnable. We will offer an alternative dog should our dog not settle given adequate time and reassurance. Rescue Remedies offers their dogs back up for life and exist on the goodwill of our supporters and volunteers.
Please click for Zach's thread for regular updates, new pictures and videos. To apply to home a dog, you must be ready within 7 days and complete a homing questionnaire submitted Online We work fast to secure our dogs their loving homes and can be talking to up to 10 families at any one time. Re: Zach Staffie DofB 22.01.13 Welsh pound comes 10th
Another friendly new arrival, Zach was so welcoming and enjoyed a nice cuddle before our walk. He's a bit harness shy and unsure of leads brushing up against him but his only reaction (other than a bit of worry) was to give kisses while going through the harnessing process, not a hint of any aggression being touched when he was anxious. As soon as he hit the grass outside the worry seemed to fade as he relaxed into his stride with a happy waggy tail ready to take in all of his new surroundings. He struck me as very confident while out - not too interested in having a sniff around, much more of a "get straight on with it" kind of dog but everything is still very new. We had a sit down for a while where Zach invited himself to plonk down and nuzzle into my legs, he likes to give frantic Staffie kisses but is oh so gentle with them. After his photo-shoot I took Zach for a little wander around the woodland walk, he seems to love the woods! His tail wagged frantically any time we walked through any wooded area bless him
Was hard to take pics of him on the walk as he just wanted to snuggle in (or not pay attention!) but he's a very handsome boy as you'll see when his photo-shoot pics go up

Your photo Chris is wonderful, Zach's face says 'I am on a walk, awesome!'. Lovely write up, I think he will be very popular with us walkers.

I went and said hello to this lovely boy today. He is just so sweet and looked very forlorn in his kennel. Chin up little man, I don't think you will be there for long

Lovely Zach, things are a bit stressful for him in kennels it seems. He just loves some company and a chance to get out Once out he has the happiest waggy tail and always checks back in with you, looking up with the sweetest little face. Being a newer arrival he doesn't quite know the area so stops when there's multiple routes and looks for a bit of direction, a very very responsive boy to voice and slight lead movements. On the subject of leads I'm not sure how much exposure he's had to being walked on lead or if he's just had bad experiences as he can get very concerned, especially with a lead on his collar where he'll often turn his neck to see what's touching him. It doesn't stop him enjoying his walks but he can get a bit surprised, poor boy flinched when I was readjusting the lead on his collar and he just snuggled into me unsure what was going on
We had a nice chillout in the Poet's Hut after our walk where Zach decided he wanted to curl up and relax next to me on the two-seater, cuddles and sloppy face washes followed Zach is just the nicest and most friendly boy who loves to be close and have some reassurance and guidance.

What a dear little boy Zach is! He seems quite disturbed and upset in the kennels and I think his feet were sore today as he was hobbling. We kept the walk short and sat on the grass. Zach didn't mind as he adores cuddles. Very sweet lad who walks very nicely with no pulling. As soon as we neared kennels, he became very stressed again. He really is a nice little dog, who is ok around dogs away from kennels, so I do hope he gets homed very soon, poor lad.
Such a good looking boy

Re: Zach Staffie DofB 22.01.13 Gatwick Kenns
zach is a heartbreaker, I have walked him several times now and I have to say he is gorgeous but at the same time is struggling in kennels and he needs a home soon as possible. he has got into the habit of tail spinning and he has really Hurt his eye by doing it but now has luckily moved in to the chalet away from kennels where he seems so much calmer and a lot more relaxed where he is laying in his bed or watching people go by and cars coming and going. he is still not happy though but doesn't seem to be tail spinning so hopefully will be more relaxed where he is until he is homed. xx
