Dixie & Simon Staffie DofB 02.09 Alford Surrey
Re: Dixie & Simon Staffie DofB 02.09 Broxbourne Kenns
Out with the Brox City Rollers, otherwise known as Simon and Dixie. They roll it's what they like to do and will do it anywhere on any surface at any time at the slightest provocation and Simon lump that he is will also roll on Dixies head, they will synchronise roll and when doing this will look at each other. They are just so cute. Super amiable, Dixie was a bit keen on seeing a little puppy, Simon, could not have cared less and at one point with Bella they were 3 abreast bustling along the towpath. Need to be a bit careful with Simon when feeding treats as he forgets your fingers aren't sausages, no malice you just get the opinion there is not much reflection going on there. Doxie on the other hand will chat away in order to get her treats.

I think I've written every possible thing about these two. They are a sweet little pair who love each other dearly and should not be spending their late middle age in kennels...
Please come and take them home

We picked Dixie and Simon up on Friday for a break from kennels. They are incredibly affectionate dogs with each other and every human they meet. House training has not been an issue. One person can walk them easily as they don't pull. They are pretty exhausted after three days of long walks. The only downside is Simon's snoring!

I can't tell you how happy I am that this lovely pair are in foster with you. We keep telling everyone how adorable and easy they are as a pair and hope you can highlight this. Well done and thank you again

The last week has flown by and Simon and Dixie are part of the furniture.
Both dogs are 100% house trained and can be left for a few hours with no issues at all. They are slowly getting fitter and really enjoy walks. They are very easy to walk together and don't pull.
Simon rolls and rolls and rolls on any grass he comes across. He is a totally chilled out dog and nothing phases him at all. He meets other dogs well but is genuinely not interested in them. He is interested in rolling - and he regularly checks in with his walker (and Dixie) which is great. Literally every single person who has met him loves him - for his rolling, snoring, licking chunky lap dog-ness he is pure comedy and lovely natured.
Dixie is very sweet and gentle. She does not know any commands (though she does know her name) so for a treat she does a lovely wiggly dance. She is less chilled out than Simon with other dogs and is much more aware of her surroundings as she is more alert than him (not difficult!). She walks alongside other dogs fine but on lead she is not keen if other dogs get in her face which is fair enough. She is very affectionate and loves sleeping on you and will also get on your lap at every opportunity. Her fur is much softer than Simon's and she loves a belly rub.

Re: Dixie & Simon Staffie DofB 02.09 Brockley Temp Foster
Simon and Dixie have had a busy couple of weeks. A long drive up to Manchester last Friday - Simon slept and looked out of the window, Dixie was a bit whiny at first but settled after 15 minutes. They enjoyed off lead time in a quiet park and we learn't that Dixie is a highly skilled footballer (until she burst the ball - she is a staffie after all!).
During the week they have been on pack dog walks with the dog walker which both dogs enjoy and Dixie is more relaxed walking with other dogs.
Simon can be off lead - his recall is good and he meets other dogs politely or swerves round them - he is not interested and likes to focus on rolling! Dixie's recall is also great and when there are no other dogs about she can go off lead as well. She will avoid big dogs but I think she likes bossing smaller dogs. However I believe that they will both be off lead dogs as she is gaining confidence all the time!
Both dogs look fitter and their fur is soft and Dixie's brindle stripes are really coming out! Truly lovely dogs.

Simon and Dixie spent the weekend with my parents as we were away. They had met them before and they settled quickly in a new environment despite Simon having a 48 hour bad belly and an accident. My parents really enjoyed walking them and said how easy they are to walk and how lovely they are with each other. They slept over both nights downstairs in my parents house without an issue. We were really pleased to see them again this lunchtime and they were missed!!

This week Dixie and Simon have mainly been snoozing in the sun or snoozing in the shade. They don't need or want long walks in this weather though they love a paddle and we all had fun walking up a stream today....
Here are a couple of pics of them out and about post paddle today:

We have just returned from a weekend at the beach in Suffolk. Simon and Dixie were great in a new place to stay. Hot but well behaved in the car. Met dogs and people well. We worked hard to keep them cool and comfortable but had some great beach time. Neither are swimmers but they love a paddle and a run in the sea!
