Fun in the paddock this morning with my mate Dylan.

You can see how muddy the paddock is and how muddy Dylan is. Dylan is not deterred by a bit of mud!

It was far too wet and windy to go in the paddock this morning so Dylan and I headed out for a walk instead with Louise and Maisie. Dylan is very calm and polite around other dogs, not wanting to get involved with what they are doing because he is too engaged in his own walk. He was brilliant this morning. He did find himself a stick, broke it up into a suitable size to carry and walked along with it proudly. He did lose interest and drop it before we got back to the kennels. Dylan is such a happy boy, always cheerful and ready to join in whatever you invite him to do. He is a sunny smile on a dark, grey, wet wintery day. thumbs.gif

I took Dylan on a walk through the woods this morning. It's was terrible with all the mud and I managed to fall over and down a bit of a slope in thick mud. I landed with quite a crash on one knee right beside Dylan, which took him by surprise a bit. The old Dylan would have freaked out I think, but he soon recovered and rushed over to wash my face. After reassuring him everything was ok (except my knee 0002.gif] ) he got all excited and grabbed a tree branch but let go as soon as I said ah ah no. Dylan is a lovely boy to walk away from the kennels, as he's so obedient and connected. I do love this hunk and hope somebody can see him for the smashing dog he is and offer him a home, which he so deserves now.

I keep forgetting to mention, that every time there is a cat in the cattery, I've walked Dylan over to see his reaction, and I can't get one from him! He stands sideways onto the cat and pretends it's not there, and doesn't take any notice at all! I keep thinking its a fluke but he does it every time, so would love to know if he's lived with cats before thumbs.gif

Dylan and I had a lovely walk this morning. We met a few walkers on the way out and Dylan was quite impressed that they all seemed to have sausages thumbs.gif
As always, super dog to walk on the lead away from kennels and I got quite a few snuggles this morning. I prefer to walk Dylan out, rather than the paddock as he is much more attentive and connected without those pesky tennis balls! Today, while on a bridle path, we met three off lead labs, which are known to us as the owner has no control over them at all and doesn't attempt to stop them approaching on lead dogs. All three stood over Dylan and completely smothered him, and while I was not impressed with the owner letting them do this, Dylan just stood wagging his tail and then looked up at me to check in that all was ok. What a great dog he is with great dog skills. Dylan also met a few people that were strangers to him and he was very comfortable approaching them and making friends. Although I said let him come to you before stroking his head, Dylan was a very relaxed boy. He has come such a long way and I truly love this boy.

Dylan and I joined in a group walk today and I can't stress enough how good Dylan is around all the other dogs. He is also very much the laid back boy around town now and meets strangers well. Love this dog so much. I always get a chin kiss from Dylan now and he loves having his chest and chin rubbed. I have been thinking how I wish I was in a position to give Dylan a short foster break and seeing how he copes with living with two other people as well. I do feel Dylan would shine in the right circumstances now and then he might get his much deserved home. Dylan is a beautiful little soul and is not a demanding dog.

I walked Dylan with Sammy, to give Sammy confidence with new walker, Jan. As always, Dylan is a solid, easy walk who doesn't react to anything and I know I can rely on him. Several new people came up and made a fuss of Dylan today and he was quite happy to meet and greet them all. I can't sing praises enough for Dylan who is not the dog who first came to us, and is so much more confident now. His behaviour while out and about around people and all other animals is perfect. Dylan needs his own home and is more than ready. I love and respect this boy so much and he deserves so much more.

I keep saying the same things about Dylan so he's obviously been waiting for a home too long! There must be the right person out there somewhere for this smashing dog. We had a lovely walk in the sunshine this morning, complete with a big kiss on the chin before I took him back, which he does more and more now. How I love this dog.

Here he is with his best "give me a treat cos I love you" face 0002.gif]
