Current Status: Available
Genie's Story: Genie's family had him since he was a puppy. There were grandchildren visiting the home, and the owners said they didn't like the way Genie looked at one of the grandchildren. There was never any incident connected with this; the owners simply booked Genie in to be put to sleep. Their vet persuaded them to sign him over to Rescue instead, knowing we would be behind him, offering him a rescue place, and saving his life. Genie's vet assessed him as a really lovely dog.
Genie needs support and management when strangers come to the home. He needs a door routine, especially in early days so he understands that visitors are not a threat. Genie is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Genie is currently in foster in Crawley whilst he awaits his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

I went into to Genie's kennel yesterday to say hello, a few barks but no malice, he came over to me for cuddles and was very gentle.
He got a little amorous but was easily to stop.
He is a shy boy who is a bit scared in kennels at the mo, but he is trying to be brave and is willing to make friends. I can't wait to get to know him better.

Met Genie today - what a lovely big boy! A bit nervous and not quite sure what's going on but very playful and once initial excitement to be out of kennels wore off he was a joy to walk and didn't pull for much of the time.
Volunteer as a walker with us! --> http://www.rescueremedies.co.uk/walking/

Great walk with Genie today. Slow to attach leads as he’s nervous of hands being around his back it seems but no nipping, did hump my leg once too as he jumped up for a cuddle.
Once out very good, he’s a lovely walker, no pulling stays quite close but doesn’t like to be bumped into. Very good when loud motorbike went by, wasn’t too sure of the horse though. I found he regularly likes nose boops, maybe as a way to stay connected and be reassured, either that or looking for treats which he takes well and on a sit command.
On our way back into the site we passed another dog and ended up following another in, he really wasn’t bothered and didn’t even pull to catch up to them.
I really rate this young man, he seems to have a gentle soul and doesn’t act his size. Hope he finds a home soon.

Oh how Genie loves to run in the paddock and even better if he has canine friend like Honey or a Hooman to play with

I have walked Genie a few times now and he is such a sweet boy. He loves his walks and is very connected to his walker. He starts off strong sometimes, but soon walks right beside you to heel. He beams up at you with that cracking smile. Loving getting to know this sweet ambull.

Genie is one of my favourites, she’s so gentle and an easy walk. Not bothered by other dogs and a great prep for the breed. Have to give Genie a cuddle and a few words every time I walk by him because he’s such a good boy!

Genie has a lovely demenour. I see him with Terry all the time and am always greeted with a lovely hug. He can sometimes look a little worried in his kennel but outside he’s a dream. No one else gets a look in when Terry is about (Terry adores him), so I have to grab my Genie hugs when they pass me. Lovely boy. Xx.
