Current Status: Homed
Honey7.jpg
Honey's Story: Honey was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within an East London council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a rescue place saving her life. We homed Honey in May 2018 to a home with older children, but unfortunately the marriage broke down. Honey was returned Feb 2019. Honey is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Honey was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst she awaits her new family.
• Lived with older children
• Muzzle Tolerant: Instinct to grab running animal e.g. Rabbits small dog
• Large breed approx 45 kilos
• Travels well
• Biddable and affectionate: Great Favourite
• Prey drive so firm hold on lead/ waistband
• Cani-cross runner

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £200. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Honey's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
14.04.18: Honey was tied to a school gate during half term. She is a female mastiff, just under 2 years old, Microchipped - legal notice sent to owner: No reply. She isn’t spayed but looks in season, so will check with vet. Hopefully can spay. Very friendly dog.
Where would she need to get too - I will arrange transport for 21st April. Michellex ADM

a lovely sweet dog enjoyed our walk with her - very aware of any noises or rustles in the woods - nothing to not like about this gentle giant

I walked Honey for the first time today. She is very friendly but didn't like passing the other dogs in the block which is quite normal.
Honey walked nicely on the whole but is large and very strong and in the woods was very interested in the squirrels which meant her darting off in different directions at some points so not for a lightweight walker 0002.gif] She listens to her name though and if you call her she turns around and ignores whatever caught her eye so I would think very trainable.
A very beautiful lady - photos don't fully capture her beauty.

took the gorgeous honey for a little trot round and ended up in the paddock which she absolutely loves - she likes chasing balls all around but much prefers chasing after marrowbone rolls - she is v agile and fast but slows down for cuddles and affection in between the running - honey is an absolute sweetie.

I have had a couple of walks with Honey and she is honeyscrummy. A very friendly girl, laps up fuss and cuddles. She has prey drive, especially squirrels! I am really am enjoying spending time with her getting to know her. Oh and she is beautiful!
