Current Status: Homed
Misty is our TerrierRescue terrier of the month for January 2019 Misty's Story: Misty grew up in a rural setting with a male dog. Misty's owners signed her over into rescue. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Misty is now neutered, chipped, and vaccinations are in progress. Misty is in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting her new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays. Misty's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
We were asked to help Misty, as she needed a secure garden and a family alert to her terrier needs.
Misty came into our Rescue on the 27th November 2018.

Misty melts the heart! She's so gentle. Misty was very patient while I faffed around adjusting a harness for her. She was keen and confident to go for a wonderful walk .. a busy, knowing girl who investigates quickly then trots on happily (without pulling). It's as if she already knows that we all love her! Emily and I were sad to say goodbye at the end of our lovely brisk wander. Misty's teddy bear eyes were shining when she received lots of stroking and more sausages as I left her in her bed. I can't wait to take her out again ... unless her forever family come forward soon!

we took misty out with rosie on sunday for a lovely sweet natured walk - we found misty cowering at the back of her kennel before we went in and after a few cuddles but refusing any sausages we managed to persuade her out she met rosie nicely and after a while some confidence returned and she began striding out well and accepting a few treats (yes she loves sausages really) overall a really sweet natured gorgeous little terrier

Misty is such a gorgeous little dog - easy to walk, friendly, always well behaved and so endearing. She was really up for a long walk today and enjoyed all the sniffs that the woodlands offered her. She is really lovely. I don't think she will be with us long.

Well this little lass has come to stay for a break and some pampering! Misty loves being groomed and on Monday night she enjoyed a warm bubble bath and a massage and look! She really enjoyed snuggling up in a fluffy towel! She does like to show her even fluffier tummy!!
