Chico Staffie DofB 2007 - 2019
PLEASE NOTE: Dog laws have changed with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to maintain dogs on lead in public spaces and manage encounters for at least 4 months until sure of their dogs instincts & skills, most of our dogs will need to be retained always on a lead, so as not to place dog's lives at risk, (Destruction or Control Orders are common place nowadays).
***PLEASE HELP OUR LONG STAY DOGS: Our min. adoption donation £175, which supports our work and Is non returnable. We will offer an alternative dog should our dog not settle given adequate time and reassurance. Rescue Remedies offers their dogs back up for life and exist on the goodwill of our supporters and volunteers.

To apply to home a dog, you must be ready within 7 days and complete a homing questionnaire submitted Online We work fast to secure our dogs their loving homes and can be talking to up to 10 families at any one time. Please remain open: We have the dogs we have. Our dogs need a supportive family to offer patience, time & tolerance to allow them to settle. Chico's progress through our Rescue below
Original Referral information : We work with our dogs & often reveal a different picture & positive skills as they build trust. 03.09.17: Do you have any spaces at the moment or coming up, do you know? We have been asked to rescue an 8 year old (Roxy) and 10 year old Chico, both staffies. Roxy has a cyst on its back (fairly sure it is just a cyst and nothing more sinister but people are being put off her because of it).
Thank you for your help with our dogs, we really appreciate it. Regards, Di MK
Chico came into our Rescue on the 7th of Sept 17

Let's start with the obvious... Chico is haaaaaaaaaandsome
He is a cuddly little man who seems a bit bewildered about what on earth he's doing in kennels at his age (altho he looks very well for 10!).
He's very sweet and greeted new people with interest on our little walk - you can see his positive body language to people passing on bikes in this video:
He was also totally disinterested in the crazy whippety pup that was bouncing around the kennels car park when we got back - a positive sign for some possible dog skills.
He walked with a completely slack lead throughout our stoll... how easy was he on the lead, I hear you ask?
This easy:
Little Chico is just waiting for his neuter op (for heaven's sake, nobody tell him the indignity that awaits!) but as far as I know that's the only thing holding him back from being ready for his forever home. If you like the look of this precious boy, go ahead and apply now!!

I had the pleasure of walking Chico today, he was one of the easiest dog to walk!
He only pulled slightly on the way out from the kennels, but he settled quite quickly and found a nice walking rhythm. He very much kept himself to himself and just wanted to go for a little wonder and sniff!

Had a lovely walk with Chico on Saturday. He was pleased to be out but didn't pull and didn't react to the couple of dogs that we passed.
