Current Status: Homed

Poppy's Story: Poppy lived with two Terriers - a male and an older female. Poppy fought with the other female, so her owners now separate them and are rehoming Poppy to gain her own space. Poppy is being homed as an only dog to assure her ongoing stability.. Rescue Remedies offered her a Rescue place. Poppy is not for cats or small furries. Poppy is very affectionate with her humans and has lived with young children. Poppy is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Poppy was in her own home in Huntingdon whilst she awaited her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Poppy's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
Poppy's family asked us to find her new home, as their two female terriers were fighting, and Poppy was the younger instigator.

Well, we picked Poppy up from her lovely home on Sunday the 26th May 19 and she was a delight all the way home to Beverley. Poppy has settled really quickly in her new home and already happily met several fury friends and children on her walks. She loves her walks, playtime with her new toys, napping (daytime) in the kitchen next to the washing machine and of course human cuddles. Mary and I could not be happier, so a big thank you to her owner for letting her go to a new home and to Rescue Remedies for their assistance in making it all happen. Some pictures of Poppy:

Poppy has had her first trip away in the motorhome to Northumberland and we can safely say she had a great time.

She is also enjoying searching for frogs in the garden. When she finds them she just follows them around having a sniff.
